No hypocrisy here, eh, Newt??

Sometimes I just don’t believe what I hear even though I have heard similar hypocritical statements in the past. Did I hallucinate it or was Newt Gingrich on NBC’s evening newscast on April 28th berating the present administration as blocking justice and other negative comments?

I just couldn’t believe my ears so I went to my favorite source for checking out anti-Clinton material, MSNBC, on the net. And, lo and behold, what did I see and hear?

Yes, I had heard right - it was Gingrich in a video clip of his speech at a recent GOPAC function speaking out about getting facts and alluding to the truth.

He actually had the gall to state that he was prepared to live and die on two principles, the first being that the American people have the right to know about basic facts.

And, the second, that we are a nation under the rule of law and no person, including the president, is above the law.

These statements are from a man who lied for two years to Congress and the people of the country concerning his illegal use of donated educational funds, a man who did not make a simple mistake but intentionally used funds for his own political purposes. The innocent do not have to nor want to lie.

If he believes so vehemently the American public deserves the facts, that no person should be above the law, then, by gosh, let him step forward and tell us exactly every illegality, unethical, and immoral act he has committed during his career as a politician.

And, yes, demanding oral sex from a young campaign worker while married is immoral and an unethical abuse of power.

Let him step forward and demand every politician be thoroughly investgated as to their manipulations of soft money contributions, of voting as major contributors wished rather than in the public’s best interest, of corruption in his party while not excluding facts of waste, fraud, and abuse by his compatriots in Congress.

Let him step forward and demand that all are at his side confessing to their sins against God and country, that all admit to their abuses of power.

When he does that, and only if he does that, Ladies and Gentlemen, will I ever believe he believes as he stated.
