Maybe, that is, as it may get even dirtier and lower. Now, anti-Clintonites, along with their lackey, Starr, are determined now to damage Mr. Clinton through the threat of impeachment proceedings. And, what will be their basis for such a drastic action?
As near as this person can tell from the garbled anti-Clinton reporting done by the major networks and the questionable ethics of their star reporters, it will be based on the possibility that Mr. Clinton or his closest aids, attempted to get witnesses to lie.
First, if Mr. Clinton induced witnesses to Whitewater to lie, one would think that after $40,000,000 Starr could have found one. But, no, this hasn't happened. If it had, Starr would have been on the tallest buildings bragging. Furthermore, impeachment proceedings would already have been initiated.
What else might impeachment proceedings hinge on? Let's see - Starr and media personalities, along with Republican agitators, have as often as possible brought up the potential of Mr. Clinton or his aides trying to affect the testimony of others in the alleged cases involving Jones and Lewinsky.
Somehow, if Mr. Clinton wanted his alleged partner in illicit sexual activities to lie about having an affair, Starr and his fellow conspirators apparently believe evidence of this could be used to prove he lied about Whitewater.
Thus, the Attorney General, Janet Reno, was politically pressured into expanding Starr’s case. This must be the case since Starr's job is to investigate Whitewater, not the sexual activities of the president.
Hmm. First, don't most married people want any partners in an illicit sexual affair to lie? Does that in any way prove that they also would lie in other matters? I think not.
Second, if they did try to get their partners to lie, does that mean they should have criminal actions taken against them? Should steps be taken to remove them from their jobs? I.e., is this an impeachable offense?
In regards to these ideas, if all persons in Washington (specifically politicians and their aids) and other public organizations, were treated in a like fashion, this writer is certain these organizations, including our Congress, would be virtually shut down while virtuous replacements are found.
To top off the complete illogic of the anti-Clinton people, they will swear that whatever they do is for the good of the country. But, is it?
Who will gain by the threat of impeachment proceedings? Will the taxpayers? Will such a measure assure that our government is cleaned up? Will all illegal and unethical behaviors of our leaders in Washington be alleviated?
Will we be free of controversies surrounding those same leaders and their questionable
tactics? Will we be assured of a government by
the people, for the people, and of the people?
The answer to all of these questions is - NO!
The last four years, intended by the investigators and Republican
conspirators to strengthen the Republican Party, has done nothing and will do nothing to
correct major problems that abound in our political system.
The controversies brought on by the people attempting to undermine the President have
instead, Ladies and Gentlemen, clearly stressed the need for increased control over
politicians and the media, that we need - no - we must have drastic political and media-bias reform.
