After all, fifty percent of the adult population in this nation reads at less than the fourth grade level which means 50 percent are functionally illiterate. Far too many graduating seniors can’t read their text books, nor write a valid sentence. Thus, it is and will be an area to get votes. If it weren’t for its vote getting power, then, of course, it would never be an issue.
It is also well-known, or should be, that money is not the solution to what is going on in public education. The record speaks for itself. In the mid-70’s, 40 percent of the adult population was considered illiterate. By 1995, this had reached 50 percent. Thus, in twenty years illiteracy had increased by a whopping 25 percent. This was in spite of millions upon millions of additional funding for education.
Buildings look nice and schools are often full of equipment but, still, functional illiteracy increased.
Money has been spent but still young people leave schools without basic skills. So why has the focus been on money since results prove money doesn’t solve the problem?
Knowledge is power. What if all people could read and comprehend what they read, that all people wanted to learn and kept on wanting to learn instead of most not having any
interest since they couldn’t read? Needless to state (but I will anyway), the results for the federal government would be disastrous.
At this time in our history, I dare say 90 percent of the population has never read the Constitution and seeked complete knowledge of it, including studying why each statement is in it. What did our forefathers intend with each article or amendment? Ask a 1,000 people on the street and they won’t be able to tell you.
Ask another 1,000 if they have ever read USC 26, particularly the sections covering who owes taxes (Subtitle A) and who must fill out a W-4 and the exact laws covering social security (Subtitle C) and the answer is likely to be none.
What has been done is word of mouth as to what the law requires. Most businesses, let alone the people who work for it, have never seen any of the documentation, nor have CPAs, accountants, IRS employees, and others who should know the laws and keep them on hand.
What they do have on hand are IRS pamphlets (although most businesses don’t) that are intentionally misleading or actually false.
Is this to the federal government’s advantage? Of course, it is. The less people know, the more easily they are misled. The feds rely on it and they rely on the fact that most people
do not go to the trouble to study and find out the truth.
The greater the percentage is of the population that can’t read, the less likely it is they will find out the truth. Thus, the goal of the feds is to keep the population ignorant of the facts and the easiest way to assure this is to keep the population illiterate and not educated as to the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and USC 26. The coffers remain open for the feds to spend a lavishly as they do. If the population did know these documents, along with Supreme Court rulings, then the coffer lid would be slammed shut with a bang heard around the world.
Plus, there is this. Ignorance also eases the task of maintaining control. Ignorance of the law allows people’s rights to be violated by all agencies of the government, including illegal searches and the other atrocities being committed by the various armed government agencies against innocent people.
Therefore, the government and those in it seeking totalitarian control through the expansion of government rely on people NOT learning while going through public education systems. It relies on ignorance so that it may do as it wants. It knows money doesn’t solve the problems of a failing system (failing for the public) but it does aid them in their cause. Thus, they will state they will get increased funding for education with the result illiteracy and ignorance will once again increase.
And, the public plays right into their hands and believes they are trying to solve the problems when, instead, it is as far from their minds as is the protection of the Constitution
and telling the people the truth concerning taxation, social security, and the fact that each and every one of them violates their oaths of office by not doing so.
That, Ladies and Gentlemen, is the America you live in. You have a federal government that relies on ignorance and you help them by remaining ignorant of the facts and, in many cases, fight against learning the facts rather than fighting to learn them.
Shame, shame, shame on you.
