The tip of the iceberg

“When you start talking about people, and start mentioning names...you ought to be concerned about how their lives are going to be impacted and affected by what you write," he told the newspaper.” (As quoted by the Indianapolis Star-News)

This statement was made by Senator Dan Burton, R, Indiana, speaking out because a newspaper (Indianapolis Star-News) is airing his dirty laundry for him. Did he have the same concerns when he used gutter language while speaking out against President Clinton?

No, it didn’t bother him a bit even though all there was (at the time) were allegations against Mr. Clinton while Burton has confessed to fathering a bastard child while married to his wife of 38 years. Talk about a person having a two-faced value system.

Isn’t it rather pathetic how quickly politicians change their opinions when the gun is pointed at them. Here is a man who never publicly acknowledged his illegitimate son by one of the woman he had been involved with. Now, he is essentially begging for mercy from the newspaper and feels that his rights to privacy are being dumped on.

Well, by gosh, Burton deserves to lose his rights of privacy just as President Clinton has. The way I see it is - if President Clinton is a scumbag, then Burton certainly is a low-life scumbag and needs a step-ladder to get up to Clinton’s level.

President Clinton at least had the good sense to not father an illegitimate child which puts him in a realm far above Burton. Think of the child growing up with a father that wouldn’t acknowledge him publicly. This, in this writer’s opinion, is a crime against humanity and should result in Burton’s immediate removal from public office.

Burton even tried to excuse away his actions by stating that he and his wife had been separated three times and nearly divorced once. For Pete’s sake, isn’t it most probable the reasons for the separations and near-divorce were because of his philandering ways, which, according to Star-News, has been quite extensive during his married life?

Now I wonder who will be next? Three of the highest officials in the nation can’t seem to keep it in their pants - Clinton, Gingrich, and Burton. How many of the others have the same problem? And, this includes the women from secretaries on up who can’t seem to keep their skirts down and their panties up resulting in sexual affairs.

Well, Folks, I think if the truth is valued, if morals in this nation are valued, if family values are as so many anti-Clintonites have expressed, then we need a good house-cleaning in Congress, including its support groups such as secretaries (and prostitutes), coming forth with the facts concerning our ‘elite’.

Clinton probably is the tip of the iceberg but not just concerning himself as many have alluded to, but rather all of those holding the power of members of Congress. It may just be that anti-Clintonites have opened Pandora’s Box of sexual misbehaviors in our capitol.

If so, preventing our being constantly bombarded with the sexual antics of people using their power to receive sexual favors will be virtually impossible, especially given our propensity for sexually related scandals and the dirty campaigning by our leaders.

Most important, however, is the fact that this case has shown the accuser as being worse than the accused. That may very well be the mainstay of Washington politics.

I wonder.
