Special Addendum: This was sent to selected members of Congress as an introduction to the accompanying article below. I don't know if any read it or not, just as I don't know how many actually read the bills they vote on.

Dear ______:

I am really disgusted by the behaviors of the people discussed in the below. I think a lot of people feel the same as I and would like to see such immaturity put to rest.

Every member of Congress should have the opportunity to read the below but I am just too tired after ten hours of this. If you feel their behavior was quite inappropriate, maybe there is a secretary not too busy who could run off each member of Congress a copy.

I am not in your district but I am an independent thinker and feel too many Washington politicians have gotten out of hand and forgotten their purpose for being there.

Immature Members of the Republican Party

Showcase Themselves

as

Near Brain-dead

By the saints above, it is time that members of the Republican Party grow up. You are shaming yourselves, your party, our political system, and the people of this nation.

Being from Missouri, Ashcroft, I used to have a bit of respect for you but no more. When you resorted to your childish tactics of name calling, you proved yourself to be out of control mentally and not deserving of my respect. I would put my feelings in the vernacular you understand, you "beep" the "beep beep", but I will not resort to such low-level language.

And, Indianians, surely you understand a man who resorts to abusive language, Dan Burton, deserves no more than to be put out of office. He is one of the people currently responsible for the governing of this nation and he can't even govern himself. Easy mark for the corruption we are all far too familiar with.

Then, there is a Republican congressional 'wannabe' from California, Darrell Issa. Hopefully, the people of California will not subject the rest of us to his presence by voting him in as a member of our Congress.

Or, is it now the acceptable norm for Washington politicians to operate at such a low level of mental functioning? I.e., is gutter mentality and the use of street language the acceptable norm for our members of Congress? Is it what we accept?

Just as a thought but had these men said the same things to a woman, they would likely be facing charges of sexually demeaning the woman and women in general, if not out and out sexual harassment.

Proper governing and decision making cannot be accomplished by the mentally challenged as those above have shown themselves to be. Then, there is the fact that we, the people of this nation, do not need, nor desire, people who stoop so low while representing us to the world.

Each of the these men is reacting to allegations only, allegations that have, to date, been proven more wrong than right as evidenced by the lack of evidence. Political decisions which affect the governing of this nation should be based only on facts.

Each of these men is reacting to frustrations caused by their inability to overcome an opponent through philosophically sound political decisions. And, as you all know, controlling frustrations in the face of defeat is a sign of maturity.

Each of these men has shown an emotional response in his decision making. Only facts, not emotions, should enter into any decision concerning the welfare and governing of this nation.

Derogatory, demeaning language pouring out as emotional upheavals serves absolutely no purpose in our government. And, childish behaviors showing complete disrespect of other people should certainly not be allowed in Congress.

Any one of these failings is indicative of exactly what we don't need in either Washington or our state capitols.

We do not need people who base decisions on other than facts.

We do not people who react to frustrations.

We do not need people who react emotionally.

And, we certainly do not need people who act as spoiled children.

Washington does, however, need cleaned up. So, quite frankly, you who choose to resort to name calling should be the first to be put out of office and our hallowed halls of Congress, with the people of this nation freed forever of any who resort to 'like' tactics.

Certain elements may not agree with me but the next time children are overheard showing complete disrepect for other people by directing abusive, gutter language at them, then remember what we are letting our representatives in Washington get away, along with what anti-Clinton media sources are shoving down the public's throats.

And, without a doubt, Ladies and Gentlemen, think about it the next time these people and their associates start spouting off about "Family Values", which is the probable headliner in the next round of national elections.

Then, ask yourself -

"Just what are their values?"
