On the Darkside

There isn’t any doubt that we are on the darkside of American politics, when party politics become more important than the good of the nation, when politicians in control of Congress do not do as the majority wish but do, instead, what is best for their party and their own self serving interests.

Who now feels pride in this country? Who now feels we are the example of all that a democratic, republic form of government should be?

Are the actions of the Republican Party what our forefathers intended that we become? Are its actions the actions that hundreds of thousands of our people have died for in wars to develop and protect liberties of the individual?

How long must we put up with a do-nothing Congress that apparently has had nothing better to do than to pursue the destruction of a president and the office of the President of the United States?

Will we ever overcome the damage that has been done in the last four to five years? Will we ever be able to once again perceive the office and Congress as being leaders we can be proud of, leaders that we can look the world in the eye and say we have the best we have to offer governing our nation?

For certain that is not possible now. Be you Republican or Democrat, the people we now have in Washington, DC, have made a shambles of our country and its governing. They are all at fault for the cesspool of distrust, deceit, corruption, anger, discouragement, shame, immorality, frustration, and apathy that has been created.

And, for what? So that one party or the other can gain control.? My God, is that what we are interested in? Is a political party more important than the well-being of the people of this nation?

Is destroying the highest office in the nation more important than the well-being of the people of this nation?

Is the money to be gained more important than those who lack in basic necessities?

I, for one, think not. It is time that once and for all time, we make it clear to our governing body exactly what we want and expect - no, what we demand they do, whether it be as part of their personal behaviors or acts of duty.

Why tolerate their behaviors? Instead, let’s not tolerate them. We are far more important than allowing Washington politicians to serve only themselves and their party’s power.

Why not demand they conduct the business of this nation in a proper and respectable manner without all the pettiness. We need only the people who have the highest levels of integrity and the deepest desire to further this country.

This is our country, not just theirs. Isn’t it time, Ladies and Gentlemen, we take it back?
