What politicians say they will do in line with the powers of government and preserving the American way of life is only during times of campaigning or getting certain members of the parties set up for elections. The rest of the time is spent doing as they want for their own or their party’s or the federal government’s good. There then isn’t any further consideration of what they said when fighting to get elected.
Currently, there are many Americans who believe Republicans are fighting for the rights of American citizens, including the right to keep and bear arms. A few Republican politicians say they are but there are only one or two I believe would actually take a stand. And, they have not done so as of this date.
Assuming (and you know what the word ‘assume’ means) the Republican Party does want citizens to keep and bear arms, why is it allowing the BATF to take actions in the sovereign, independent 50 States? What authority does the BATF actually have in the 50 States? Why does it need expanding? More on this in a moment.
Are Republicans truly interested in limiting government to its constitutional powers? Let’s see. The Senate passed S486 unanimously. In case you don’t understand the import of this, this bill would have given federal agents the right to enter anyone’s home without a search warrant when people aren’t home, take anything they wanted, not tell the people they were there, and not necessary ever present any reason for having been in the home.
The bill does away with the 4th Amendment, pretty well crushes the 5th Amendment, and wipes out the 6th, 10th, and 14th Amendments. Who has the majority in the Senate - Democrats or Republicans? Why, its the Republicans. They, therefore, are responsible for the bill passing. (Enough people raised the devil to stop the House from passing its version of the bill. But, don’t worry - members of Congress will sneak the same provisions into another bill.)
The IRS regularly violates citizens rights, including most amendments and it makes a shambles of the judicial system, or the judicial system with federal help makes a shambles of itself. If members of Congress don’t know following, they should: The IRS/BATF isn’t an agency of the Treasury Department of the United States. It is a trust, but not a trust of the 50 States. G.K. Humphreys renamed the Bureau of Internal Revenue of Puerto Rico (Trust #62) to the Internal Revenue Service in 1953.
However, this didn’t change the functions of the organization, nor make it a US agency. Regardless of the name, its function is primarily to collect due excise tax on privileged earnings (those from foreign sources or foreigners earning money in this country, for example) and goods entering this country and any tax due through interstate commerce. What it may not investigate or tax is any law-abiding American citizen with domestic earnings only.
Republicans have had control of Congress, the House and Senate, for several years now. If it did care about the rights of the people, why hasn’t the IRS been curtailed and limited to its legal functions rather than allowed to run rampant over the people of this nation?
The BATF is part of the IRS. No where will you find it is an agency of the United States except in propaganda print and by government officials (or paid spokespersons). It has no authority over citizens owning firearms (See addendum below), making their own booze, selling of their booze (unless it is sold across State lines), making firearms, growing tobacco, and selling tobacco within their state/s of residence.
What a government controlled monopoly the tobacco industry is. Wouldn’t you like to have a business the federal government controls for you so that others are prevented from competing?
Of course, this isn’t a one-way street. Just think of all the money that would be lost in tax and other kickbacks to the feds if we all grew our own tobacco and made our own booze and sold the same within our own state.
Anyway, the federal government hasn’t any power to demand registration of firearms or to instate any other law that we all take as being a power of the US Government. Its power does not extend over the citizens of the 50 States, be they criminals in the common connotation or not. Its power concerning crime is stated in Article I, Section 8, Clause 10, and you will not find any mention of firearms, drugs (including tobacco), and alcohol, nor, I repeat, of any form of law enforcement.
But, it does have the power to regulate to regulate commerce with foreign nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes (Article I, Section 8, Clause 3). In its functions is the power to assure any due tax (import, dury, or excise) is paid. That is all.
Republicans (and all others) in Congress must know (should know) the Constitution inside and out. And, yet, after years of being in control of Congress, instead of the BATF being curbed to its legal functions (See addendum below) it is being expanded. Thus, law enforcement in the States by federal organizations is being expanded when the truth is - it should have been curbed with the BATF only involved in commerce, interstate and foreign.
Example after example could be written about the contradictions. But, what I am trying to make clear is the Republican Party is no different than the Democrat Party when it comes to removing the rights of American citizens. It says one thing but does the exact opposite. Its actions, or lack of actions, are the same as the Democrats. Both parties’ strive to establish or keep control where they in truth haven't any power to function.
This includes privacy (Carnivore and illegal monitoring of citizen’s phone calls, emails, and so on), due process and justice, unconstitutional taxation, arms, freedom of speech, property rights (feeling secure in one’s own home), and - well, just about every inalienable right of all people.
In addition is the government’s violation of the powers given it by the people. Get this and get it straight. THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT DOES NOT HAVE ANY POWER EXCEPT THAT AS GIVEN TO IT BY THE PEOPLE OF THIS NATION. Those powers are listed in Article I, Section 8
of the Constitution of the United States of America. What we have allowed can just as well be disallowed.
Now, I ask you. While having the majority, did the Republican-controlled Congress do away with all the unconstitutional legislation passed in the last 200 years? Did it even do away with one illegal law? And, yet, the Republicans have had the power to do so.
Well, in the opinion of this American citizen, the lack of action far outweighs the lip-service given the public during campaigns and times of trying to trash opponents.
The Republican Congress, Ladies and Gentleman, speaks with a forked tongue, the same forked tongue of previous Democrat-dominated congresses, the same forked-tongue that seems to eventually infect nearly every congressman.
Thus, it is up to us to assure every unconstitutional law be removed since it is highly unlikely Congress is going to cut its own purse strings. And, this I don't believe, although I pray otherwise, can be done without tremendous bloodshed.
Did you get that - IMPORTED, not domestic, and only on the first sale but not any sale following the first sale. Also, its jurisdiction is only to pursue those importers of contraband alcohol, tobacco, or firearms who sneak the goods in in order to avoid tax.
