According to Webster, truth means “conformity to fact or reality; integrity; constancy; exactness; reality; verified fact.”

Well, now. That is interesting - that is, how, or if, The Truth fits into politics and the quite expensive investigation by Starr. And, let’s not forget the Republican party members stressing their desire for The Truth along with stressing the American people deserve The Truth.

During the search for The Truth by Starr, his 27 attorneys (maybe more by now since he has rented another 5800 feet of office floor space in Virginia), and his single-minded vindictive goal, President Clinton has quite possibly become the most investigated, most publically and verbally abused person this nation has ever seen.

Here is what I wonder - if investigated as thoroughly, could each opponent of Mr. Clinton's stand the test of morality, ethical behavior, and behaving within the boundaries established by our civil, moral, and understood laws (mores)? Could each pass a test of integrity in their personal and public lives?

Have no others coerced or inticed witnesses (a term used quite loosely since Washington abounds with after-the-fact rumor mongers and leaks which may or may not be factual)? If each and every politician were as completely investigated as Mr. Clinton, would they come out squeaky clean?

Here is The Truth. Two people on Earth know for a fact what occurred between President Clinton and Monica Lewinsky. They are President Clinton and Monica Lewinsky. Both have denied that Lewinsky was induced to lie, the one fact that has emerged after millions of dollars and thousands of man hours being spent.

(Special Addendum: Another fact did emerge. Lewinsky did favor Mr. Clinton with oral sex. Whoop de do. Did we really need to know that, especially since it took way over $40 million dollars to find it out?)

Here is a belief of mine. If you support the actions of Starr and the Republican party in the matter of Clinton-Lewinsky, then your support shows acceptance of it being okay to search for The Truth if, and only if, the search is directed at opponents of your political party.

If complete investigations of our primary political parties’ members as to illicit affairs, being unethical, amoral activities, violation of civil laws, corruptive misuse of campaign and donated funds, and coercicing or inducing witnesses to lie are not demanded, then it is not The Truth being seeked.

That is the reality and a verifiable fact as every American knows that the House Leader and leader of the Republican Party, as an example, has done far worse.

If you do not make these demands of the complete truth from our members of Congress, then you, including self-serving media people, are doing nothing more than blindly supporting a political party and unproven allegations. This is a situation detrimental to uncorrupted governing of this nation and finding The Truth.

So, ask yourself, Ladies and Gentlemen. Is it The Truth being seeked or is it just more of the same old political party crap being doled out to us?
