DragonBall Z is the story of Goku the most powerful warrior on earth, his son Gohan, and a band of friends who must battle for earth against the most powerful warriors in the universe. Many of the enemies that Goku faces are so powerful, that one of there kind can destroy an entire planet. Many of his enemies such as Freeza, Cell, and Buu are a threat to the entire universe.
In the world goku lives in there are seven DragonBalls. When they are brought together, they summon the Eternal Dragon who will grant a wish. The Sayia-jin
The Sayians are a race of people who once lived on the planet Vegita. They had the power to transform into giant ages and level cities, thus they were a warrior race. Many of the sayians spent there lifes travaling to planets, destroying all life and then selling them to other races who were considering relocating. Goku is a sayian, he was originaly sent to earth to destroy it, however when he arrived as a small child he was dropped on his head, and forgot his mission.
Unfortunatly just after Goku left planet vegita was destroyed. His father was the only one who knew what was happening, but lacked the strength to save the planet. Only a few sayians were left in the universe. After the destruction of planet vegita the only Sayians left were, Goku, Vegita, Nappa, and Radditz.
Sayians have several distinct charicteristics. Whenever they face a near death experience and recover, there power level increses dramaticly. Once a sayin reaches a certain level and needs to become stronger, some have the power to transform into a legendary super sayian.
Super Sayia-jins
Only a few sayins ever become Super Sayians. They come and go about every 3,000 years. Goku transformed into a super sayian after his friend krilin was destroyed durring his battle with freeza. Super Sayians have indomidable power, there powerlevels range from around 10 million while Goku fought freeza, to around 100 million durring the cell saga. There are several levels beyond that of a super sayian, Gohan is the first to reach the second durring his battle with cell. A second level super sayian has a power level upwards of 450 million. When Goku's battles with Buu, he attains the highest level Ive ever seen, super sayian 3, his hair becomes extreamly long, and his power level approaches 800 million. When Goku powers up to super sayian 3 the energy thats released is enough to level a city, so if he is fighting to protect something this is his last resort. Beyond super sayian 3? Yeah but Ive never seen one, and I dont think anyone reaches that level untill DragonBall GT.
