IT IS TOO MUCH OF A BURDEN FOR A FEW ETHIOPIANS TO OVERCOME A STATE-CRIME.
Join in the fight to free Ato Siye Abreha And All Political Prisoners In Ethiopia.
The coalition for Free Siye (TCFS) August 21, 2001. The Coalition for Free Siye received a confirmation of the bad news of the deteriorating health of Ato Siye Abreha, which was also made known by the Commentator a week ago. Ato Siye is suffering from asthma and his condition is worsening by the day as his captors are preventing him from getting proper medical attention. His prison cell is deliberately contaminated with hazardous chemicals, abject sanitation problem and devoid of fresh air. His captors have gone to the extent of methodically controlling the food Ato Siye needs to survival.
The people in power are systematically and brutally bringing the life of the man who gave his life to his country to a quick end. They know he would die as they continue to complicate his health like they did and still continue to do to political activists imprisoned. Mr. meles and Sibhat Nega are playing their games with the court on putting off the Ato Siye’s court case on by-weekly basis. There was the case when the disgraceful regime staged a sabotage to blackout lights in the court as Ato Siye was up to speak and the court had to be adjourned for this reason. Many more perishing in prisons only because we Ethiopians become ambivalent to the habitual crimes committed on our citizens and country by the subsequent dissolute leaders in power. We can’t have the moral value to speak of our country when we stand aside and see those who standup against the evil regime loose their lives.
We say citizens have forgotten their duties to protect themselves and their country from such crimes by the state that the burden of this has descended upon individuals like Ato Siye Abreha and other fine Ethiopians. It is too much to carry for a few Ethiopians the burden of state-crime we failed to lift up from the country. Our duty should be to strive for the truth, the truth of uncovering the heinous crimes this regime has done to bring the nation to an end.
There is too much secret the Meles and Sibhat clique are bent to burry with their enemies. We can unravel this if we fight for the freedom of Ato Siye Abraha and others who fought against the evil forces in the TPLF. The TCFS appeal to all concerned Ethiopians to act and to act now before the future of our country is beyond redemption, to free Ato Siye and tens and thousands of those prisoners of conscience in Ethiopia. We ask for your involvement and support to tell this crime to the world and do what is possible to secure the release of all political prisoners in Ethiopia as suggested by the Commentator.
We the members of the coalition have great hopes that this issue will be addressed at the TISJD conference in Washington on August 25. And we would like to thank the people who are doing their best to overcome the misfortune that has befallen on our country and people. The Coalition for Free Siye (TCFS)
