Senegals Information
Unlike
most other types of birds, Senegal's and other Poicephalus parrots love
to lay on their backs and play. They are acrobatic little clowns, adept
escape artists and they are careful conservationists who like to
"store" every unattached toy in their food or water bowls.
Senegal's are good at talking and can have a large range of words. They
are not noisy and love to eat. Senegal's eat just about anything,
parrot food, pellets, fresh greens and fruit. Peanuts are a favorite
with these birds.
Senegal Parrots can be housed in relatively small cages. Cages
manufactured for "small birds" or cockatiels are sufficient in size.
Bar spacing of three-quarters of an inch is recommended.
