A good theme for the book Fences by August Wilson is Unity. I think unity is a good theme because unity is keep thing/people together. Also the title Fence, which are used to keep people out or to keep people in. In the book every one is gooing there own way, they are not coming together as a family. Troy sending his brother to an mental hospital cause Gabriel to stray away from the family. Cory and Troy disagreement about Cory future cause them to stray away from each other. Troy cheat with Alberta cause the family to stray away from Troy. Troy the person who help break the family up the most, turns out to unite them together at the end at Troy's funeral, but not fully they still have thing to work out between them.

Fences -  are used to keep people out or to keep people in. To me this comes in because in the story the family is break away, going their separate ways. like Cory going to collage, Gabriel being send to a mental hospital, Troy with another women which he would probably stay with her.
