British Endeavour Pictures decided they wanted a woman to direct their latest film "The Hazelwoods   Children". They wanted a woman's touch, that eventually came in the form of Sophia Dembeis.

Sophia is 30 years old, and was born in Lancashire, England. She wanted to go into acting at first, but  changed her mind at the last minute and continued her education at London School of Film Making.

Sophia received a degree in both Direction and Script Writing. She completed her first short film,          "The only way out", in October 1996.

She received great critical acclaim for the film, and was awarded with the Best Short Film Director's   Award by the Amateur Film Trust.

Over the next three years, Sophia produced over ten short films for Channel 4, Channel 5 and the          Discovery Channel.

In February 2000, Sophia was approached by British Endeavour Pictures to direct her first Feature        Film for the cinemas.

Sophia was overwhelmed and accepted the job. She was extremely nervous, as this was her first        big venture.

British Endeavour Pictures announced that Sophia is the perfect director for the film, as she has new  and fresh ideas. They believe that once "The Hazelwoods Children" is released, Sophia Dembeis is going to go  very far.
