Age: 23 just about to turn 24

Height: 5'7" Full figured and prone to chubbiness (though mostly in all the right places) ^_^ Despite all the exercise she gets she still has to watch out for those Godiva Chocolate dipped strawberries which she is totally addicted to!

Looks: Dark Brown Hair, almost black in the winter months, but has deep red highlights in the summer because she spends so much time out in the sun. Her hair is very long, falling almost to her waist, but she always keeps it either up in a very tight bun (that gives her a very sever almost librarian look) or in a long braid down her back. She has brown eyes and a very pale complexion with lots of freckles on her nose. She usually wears glasses because she is always in such a hurry in the mornings that she forgets to put in her contacts. She hates mornings and would much rather sleep in but usually can't because she has to get up early to get the perfect lighting for a lot of her pictures. She loves to dress up for special occasions, but usually you will find her in jeans, t-shirts and tennis shoes looking kinda frumpy. Her work as a photographer sometimes requires her to position herself in places that that most people wouldn't go, so it isn't an uncommon occurrence to find her dirty and windblown with her glasses sliding half off her nose muttering to herself about shutter speeds and aperature settings ^_^.

Nationality: Rae is Welsh like Ariana; she was born in Wales and lived there until she was 9, then moved to America with her mother after her father died. She grew up in Colorado where her mother worked for a local newspaper. While her mother made sure she learned how to conduct herself in polite society, she has been and always will be something of a tomboy. Her favorite activities while growing up (besides photography) were hiking, fishing and camping. Her mother's brother and his two sons would always take her with them whenever they spent a weekend in the mountains, and as she got older she would often go by herself despite her mother's protests about how dangerous it was. To her mother's consternation she would often come home with beautiful shots of bears and mountain lions that were obviously taken from a closer distance than her mother was comfortable with. This rarely bothered Rae though, as it seemed that the animals accepted her and didn't see in her as a threat. Although fearless of most animals, she is deathly afraid of spiders and will jump and yell if caught off guard by one. Her camera bag holds all her equipment, a water bottle, a book or magazine to read, a bag of beef jerky and a can of Raid.

Occupation: Rae is a relatively well-known photographer in the travel industry. One of her first Christmas presents was a camera and a black and white photo developing kit. She loved to take pictures and develop them herself. Once she moved to Colorado she began taking pictures of the mountains, flora, fauna, people and places there. The newspaper began buying her pictures for publication while she was still in high school. She also sold pictures to occasional magazines around the county. With the money she earned from these sales she bought herself a very nice and expensive camera, which her mother always accused her of treating like a baby. She spent one year in college studying photography before she was offered a job with a magazine that had a travel section. She spent the next three years traveling around the U.S. taking pictures for the magazine. During this time many of her photos were picked up by other publications and her work became fairly well known in the industry. After three years an international travel company who wanted her to do the photography for their foreign travel books offered her a similar job. In the second year of working for this company she was paired up with Ariana to do a travel guide on Wales. They worked so well together and became such fast friends that they have worked as a team ever since. Apart from the work that Rae does for the Travel Company, she shows and sells her work in galleries in the states. Her work is just beginning to have a following but her name is still relatively unknown outside the travel industry. One of her favorite bragging rights is that she had one of her photos of the Rockies mantled in their fall colors made into a puzzle.

Other Stuff: Like Ariana, Rae is also a reincarnated Genbu Seishi, although she too is unaware of that fact. Her Seishi persona is Urumiya (or Umiyame) Her Seishi tattoo (although it hasn't appeared yet) means Rooftop (perhaps danger/steep). Knowing her, this probably has something to do with her inclination to climb to the top of anything and everything to "get the shot". This used to drive her mother crazy, especially once after she fell off the roof and broke her arm! Her Seishi power will be that of a Mage.

Unlike Ariana she knows very little of the Japanese language, just basically enough to ask "how much" and "where is the bathroom!" ^_^ She does know a few phrases, but not much else. It's not that she doesn't care about learning the language, it is just that she is always so engrossed in taking pictures that she rarely takes the time to talk to anyone. Despite her lack of knowledge of the spoken language of Japan, she is relatively well-versed in many of their customs. One of her favorite hobbies is reading, and she has especially enjoyed works of fiction and non-fiction that delve into unique cultures. Although looking at her you might think that she is oblivious to what is going on around her, she actually is very observant and doesn't miss much. She is not flighty, just very intent. Having spent her entire life viewing life through the eye of a camera, she strongly feels that many things can be known and understood without saying a word. The cliché "a picture is worth a thousand words" would have to be one of her favorites. She has become very adept at reading body language and sad is the person who tries to mislead her as she invariably knows that they have lied. She is not much of a people person though, especially not groups (unless she has had a couple of drinks, at which time she seems to come out of her shell – no Genbu pun intended – and becomes the life of the party) (Although pleasenote that she HATES to be drunk and rarely drinks in excess). This tends to amuse her friends greatly, who almost inevitably manage to talk her into singing kareoke whether it is available or not! She has a pretty singing voice, but you will rarely hear it (unless you happen upon her out taking pictures as she has a tendancy to hum or sing while she works), due to the fact that she gets terrible stage fright. She is normally very shy, quiet and reserved though. If you do manage to engage her in conversation and she feels comfortable with you, you will most likely find her to be articulate and possessing strong views on a plethora of subjects. With close friends though she can be a fun and entertaining companion. For the most part though she is more than happy to let Ariana do most if not all of the talking with the locals during their travels.
