Texas Sighting Reports
Another Triangle

Friday 1996, 8:00 PM

I saw a triangle shaped UFO about 5 years ago... I can't remember exactly what the date was, but I remember it was a Friday and it was about 8:00 PM. I like to look at the stars, so while my family was watching some lame TV movie, I was hunched at the window gazing at the night sky. I didn't believe in UFOs or aliens or anything of that sort at the time, but what was about to happen would change my mind forever. After watching out the window for several minutes, I suddenly caught a glimpse of something quite strange traversing the sky from the northwest. There were two very distinct, very bright lights dancing and twirling and flying all over... both the lights seemed to keep within a certain distance of each other, but they were dancing all over the place like they were playing a child's game of tag. At first I thought it might be lights on the end of the wings of a small stunt aircraft, but after I noticed that none of the two lights ever vanished like what would happen if the light passed behind the fuselage of a plane... in addition to that, the lights would be arranged so that if you would draw a line through them, it would extend from North to South. Let me remind you that the object (s) were performing extremely radical stunts... twirling many times around then flying parallel in a straight line, then spinning violently in a different direction all within two seconds. I don't know of any aircraft that can do this kind of thing. Lastly, I noticed that the lights would vary in their proximity to each other as if they were not even attached. Also, it's important to note, that even though the lights were performing amazing arial stunts, they never varied their heading or velocity... they seemed to be moving in a very steady unaltering south bound direction. And then they disappeared over the horizon.
I was left speechless and very scared.

Mountain Encounter

1987, 1:00 AM

This sighting was quite a few years ago, but I remember it like it was yesterday. It was 1987, I was a senior in high school. I was having a cigarette outside my parent's house about 1:00 AM. I noticed a very bright light traveling south along the Monzano mountains, coming from the direction of Sandia peak. I thought it was a light plane with a really bright light until it stopped in mid flight, and started back in a north westerly direction at about twice the speed it was going before. In about 10 seconds it was at the north west side of the Sandias, and then it shot up at about a 45 degree angle and was out of sight almost instantly.

Corpus Christi, Texas

December 13, 1998, 5:00 PM

I only have one sighting that there is a witness to that is living. I can't say it was a UFO, but It was a strange object in the sky. December 13, 1998 at approx. 5:00 PM. Driving west. me and my friend were driving to dinner, meeting friends for a celebration dinner. We pulled onto Carroll Lane Street from Staples and noticed a glowing orange object descending at about a 45 degree angle. The was NOT a meteor all though at first description it sounds like one.

The descent was all wrong, first it was descending extremely slow. We watched this thing for up to 5 minutes ! Another thing it had a very long tail on it, not just the white tail associated with things falling through out atmosphere, it had a long green tail. As it descended in front of us, and got closer to the horizon, we noticed it was now orange and green, and then it did something very strange. It changed course in it's decent like it hit a wall and sent from 45 degrees to straight down. Where I disappeared behind the tree line.

We arrived at the restaurant and it was all we could talk about, and another member of our party showed up a few minutes late, it was all she could talk about as well. She saw it independently of me and my friend. We found this to be very interesting, especially since no one else seemed to have noticed this 'fire ball.'
What we found out later was that the three of us who did see it. All have some type of UFO background.
I have other sightings, where another was with me, but they are now deceased. And a few where I was alone. So verification would be impossible

Lake McClellen, Texas

Summer of 1956

Yogi: I am glad to tell you about what I saw. I have always been suspect of some of the people who have had "close encounters",therefore I have said little to anyone about this event. I think some of those good folks stood to close to their auto exhaust.

In the summer of 1956 a fellow airman and two young ladies and I went to Lake McClellen which is about 60 miles directly east of Amarillo, Texas. My friend and I were stationed at Amarillo Air Force base at that time. I was permanent party and my duty was a Drill Instructor, training new enlistees. We spent the afternoon just messing around until evening. Sometime after the sun had set we drove south from the lake to route 66 which would take us to Amarillo. As we reached route 66 we stopped at a stop sign before proceeding onto the main road. I saw a series of very large lights traveling directly above us, traveling from north to south. I estimated their altitude at 30,000 feet. Their were smaller lights flying slightly beneath the larger lights and would move from one large light to the next light and then back to the former. I got out of the car and listened and there was no sound from them what so ever. We turned west on 66 and was able to watch them continue south for sometime even as we continued west.

We did not report this to anyone. The second episode occurred at Pantex ordinance depot which is about 10 miles east of Amarillo AFB in the late summer early fall of 1958 and only a small one paragraph report was printed in the Amarillo Globe newspaper. A very good friend of mine was a member of the security team at this nuclear weapons depot. This depot stored some of the nasty secret weapons i.e. neutron bombs which you may have heard about. My friend related to me he had fired his automatic weapon at a craft that landed at the depot. This was a 50 cal machine gun. The craft lifted off and left the area at great speed. He told me he was being transferred to another location and I never heard from him again.

Add On: One thing I forgot to mention on the incident at Pantex ordinance, was my friend told me at daylight they went out to see where the "weather balloon" had landed and they could see where the bullets had torn up the grass and could see a large circular impression (about 24 feet in diameter) in the grass. There was no balloon and no burn marks where the jet might have burned the grass. That was not reported in the Globe News.

Texas Sighting

Amarillo - River road, near Amarillo. Davis, 12 and Charles 9 saw a disk land behind a hill and touched it. It was the size of a car tire, about 30 cm high, with a rounded top that rotated and a pivot between the base and top. It took off very fast. The faces and arms of the boys later became red.

Texas Boomerang - UFO

March 11, 2001, 10:40 PM

Hello Yogi, Thanks for your interest. All I can do is describe what I saw to you and you can make your own judgment (s). To make a long story short, I was looking up at the sky to the west and noticed something out of the ordinary. What I saw was more or less a boomerang shaped object if you will, but also more of a 'flying wing' shaped object heading in my direction at about two o'clock in the sky. The thing that caught my eye was that this object was 'wrapped' in three bands of colors complete, a reddish band, under that was a light blue band, and under that was sort of an pale washed out orange color -- all three bands of color had a rippling effect from one end of the flying wing, or edge, boomerang if you like. It started to move in sort of an arc outwards changing its direction slightly and it was getting closer to me.

The following movement of same "blew me away" - this thing just stopped in Mid-air completely, not losing altitude nor color -- then, before I could blink maybe five times -- there comes three "darts of light" shooting straight up one behind the other, from the center of the "boomerang" moving at a speed so quick, they seemed to "vanish" in front of my eyes, the whole thing with the "darts of light" - lasted about five to seven seconds in it's entirely. The darts of light were a brilliant white color. Well by now, I am starting to get flipped out a little because I cannot believe what is in front of my eyes ! The next thing I know, the boomerang turns "pure white" - no more bands of color, angles up straight into the night sky and takes off in a way that I have NEVER SEEN any of earthly constructed aircraft move -- that thing was moving so fast it too, "vanished", in front of my eyes, more or less -- I have Never Seen anything like this in my 58 years, I am considered a serious type individual by everyone whom knows me, I finally told my better half last night, three days or so now later, and she said she believed me, well I guess she does. But I'm telling you Yogi, whatever it was, WAS NOT FROM THIS PLANET. I find myself looking up at the sky every chance I get now when I look our over our fields here on the ranch. I spoke to some "airport" people and they would not comment on same to me when I told them the time of night, etc, etc. That's about it Sir, I hope to have responded to you in a way hat you can draw any pictures you might from what I saw."

NOTE: The object at its closest point to me, I would say was about 3/4s of a mile away, and maybe a good 8,000 feet or so up in the air, I'm guessing at this, but it could have been a little farther away and higher too -- whatever it was, it looked big to me.

Best Wishes - W. McCoy

Pasadena, Texas, Triangular Craft

July 14, 1999, 9:15 PM

I stepped out on my front porch (facing NNW) and looked up to find a huge 45 degree triangular craft in the sky above Pasadena, Texas, heading almost due west toward Houston. The leading edges of the wings were lined from end to end with individual steady white lights and there were red, white, blue and green lights strobing in what appeared to be a random pattern all over the underside of the object, with no discernable fixed position.

I live about 3 blocks south of Texas 225, on the east side of Pasadena. The sky is perfectly clear, and there is a glow from the Ship Channel Industries, Houston and the other cities in this congested area, thus I was able to see what appeared to be a faint image of a domed shape on top, framed by the "V". I yelled for my brother to come look, but by the time he got there with phone in hand, it had passed behind the trees toward the west. He handed me the phone and my estranged wife who was apparently listening to my excited description, said, "I'm looking at it now". Then proceeded to describe it, and tell me it was "just another weird new plane". (a skeptic till death, which is much longer than this marriage will last).

The only thing wrong with the possibility that she was looking at the same object, is that she was on FM 1960 headed west toward Houston Intercontinental Airport, on the north side of Houston, in Huffman, Texas looking at a similar object (directly overhead), apparently on a final for Intercontinental, about 30 miles due north. Yet she described it exactly as I described the one above.

The one I saw was crossing one of the approach corridors for Hobby Airport on the south side of Houston, at about a 45 degree angle. My sighting lasted for approximately 15 seconds, with the craft appearing to be at normal altitude and normal speed for air traffic, in or out of Hobby, directly over Texas, 225. In fact, its flight path would probably have been right down the Center Median of 225.

Pipe Creek, Texas

Tuesday, May 3, 1983, Between 8:00 & 9:00 AM

I watched a light of four, approximately 20 minutes, they were the classic disks in close formation. (over Medina Ranch near Pipe Creek, Texas) do this in slow, low level flight (no more than 2 to 300 feet up, maximum 50 MPH). My impression was a search pattern. They came toward me 'tacking' back and forth, each one turning 90 degree at the exact same point in the sky, as it bouncing off the rails of a pool table.

Then, did a complete (almost) 180 in the same manner, and zipped out of sight, one at a time (straight away), with blinding though not instant, continually increasing acceleration (2 to 3 seconds to dwindle to dots and disappear in the distance).

Happed When I Was 14

2:00 AM

A friend and I were out late one night about 2:00 AM. Were just kids doing what kids do, soaping windows. A bunch of really bright flashes went off that lightened up the surroundings (this was in the country) like it was day. This of course scared the hell out of us and ran like the wind into the woods. After running about 150 to 200 yards we dropped down to the ground. As I lay on my front side, I was looking up, over our heads came a very large, round shaped object that looked like the bottom was flaming red. It made no noise and was there for only 2 seconds. I said to my friend "your" not going to believe what I just saw.
"He said it to" This was, by far one of the most terrifying moments of my life. I believe at this time more things may have happened. I'm looking for some one who deals with these kind of things to work with me to see if there's more to it.

Amarillo

Late 1952

Late in the evening, Captain G. W. Schemel of TWA was flying at 18,000 feet when the lights of an object appeared less than a mile away from his plane. The object flashed towards the plane at incredible speed, Schemel dived, and the UFO disappeared overhead in a burst of light. Several passengers were injured in the dive, since Schemel had not had time to warn them to fasten their seat belts. The Air Force explained the event away as a conventional aircraft, but Schemel disagreed, and the CAA said there was no other aircraft within 50 miles.

Amarillo

August 3, 1953, 12:04 PM

Witness: Airport control tower chief C.S. Brown. One round and reflective or translucent object flew straight, stopped for 7 seconds, sped along, stopped again, was joined by a similar object and they flew off in different directions, after a total of 56 minutes.

Arlington

March 13, 1997, 9:00 PM

A man was driving through Arlington, Texas midway between Dallas and Fort Worth when he "noticed a very bright light, crystal white blinking light -- strobe like. I watched the light as it went erratically towards the east. The movment was unlike any airplane or helicopter might make. Between flashes, the light seemed to move from one point to another faster then usually seen with a typical aircraft. I followed but was unable to catch up with the light before it dropped near Arlington Municipal Airport. "I quickly drove to the airport lot", he added, to look for a plane that had recently landed but he saw nothing.

Austin

June 24, 1967, 3:12 AM

Witness: Artist Ray Standford. One solid, blue-white, elliptical object flew from northwest to northeast and stopped, seemingly in response to flashlight signals, for 1.5 minutes. the object then proceeded along its original path at high speed and disappeared behind clouds. Sighting lasted 9 minutes.

Austin

April, 1968

Henry Ford and several of his executives, aboard a jet star belonging to his company, sighted a huge UFO that seemed to be pacing their plane while flying at 35,000 feet. The object was seen by all passengers and was estimated to be twice the size of a DC-8 and flying at a speed of 600 mph.

Austin

September 27, 1997, 3:30 PM

Harey H. knew he was "going to be in the yard a while so I grabbed my 7x50 binoculars because I enjoyed looking at airplanes." facing the south, Harv "was watching a twin engine turboprop plane operating out of Austin's Mueller Airport. In my lower field of view, traveling in the same direction as the plane, appeared an object that I still do not recogonize." "It was an oval-shaped object of a whitish hue, "he reported. "Its narrow side was facing the direction of travel. It definitely was not unfinished metal reflecting sunlight. It moved straight and unswerving. I don't suppose I saw it for more than three seconds as it crossed my field of view." "I've looked at aerial objects for a good many years, but I could not say whether this object was a flattened softball-like thing flying at 50 miles per hour or if it was a far larger object at a high altitude flying a tremendous speed beyond the plane."

Baytown

July 18, 1966, 9:00 AM

Several persons evidently saw an interesting object there at about 9:00 AM. The original source on this case was an article that appeared in the 10/8/66 Houston Post. The principal witnesses, W.T. Jackson and assistant Kelly Dikeman, were inside Jackson's service station when Jackson spotted the object hovering motionless about 100 yards away. (The Post said 1000 yards, but Jackson later pointed out that he had been interviewed while he was waiting on a customer at the station and the reporter didn't get all of it correct). Jackson explained that the object "lay right over the Dairy Queen."

He described it as a white object that "looked like two saucers turned together with a row of square windows in between", and he thought it might have been 50 feet in diameter. he called Dikeman over, and they both looked at it for a few seconds and then simultaneously started for the door to get a better look. Almost at that moment it started moving westward. Dikeman was at the door before Jackson and had the last view of it as it passed over a water tower, beyond buildings and a refinery and was gone, "faster than any airplane."   Jackson described it as pure white light, and definitely not spinning, since he saw clearly the features that he termed "windows".  Jackson kept the incident to himself for a time; when it got out, two nurses who were unwilling to give him their names because "they didn't want to be laughed at "stopped at his station and told him they had seen it from another part of Baytown.

Brazoria

February 5, 1997,  11.30 PM

At 11.30 p.m. motorists driving north on Texas Highway 36 from Brazria spotted a formation of five circular red lights in the sky.  "from this distance they looked above tree top. The UFO's passed directly over the .. vehicle, and he estimated "that they were about a thousand feet up. I told him I didn't know how high a thousand would be, so he said about three radio towers high."

The witness reported that, heading north out of Brazoria, the formation approached from "the left hand side of the road"  (the west "over to the right hand side of the road" (the east)  and on (southward) to Bailey's Prairie or Angelton or maybe the Lake Jackson area.  He said the lights were all at the same level, and they were spread apart more than a football field length would be .".... he said all he could see were the lights.  At one point, he described them (the lights) as coming out of a cone-shaped area. He was all wound up because he thinks this UFO stuff is a bunch of hooey. But now he's wondering just what it was he saw.  The guy in the car behind him ran off the road. He doesn't know if it was because he slowed down to stare at the objects, or if the guy beside him also saw the objects."

Camp Hood

March 17, 1949, 7.52 PM

Witnesses:  Guards of the 2nd Armored Division.  While awaiting the start of a flare firing, they watched, for an hour, while eight large, green, red and white flare-like objects flew in generally  straight lines.

Canadian

February 11, 1957

5 km west of town, military and civilian witnesses reported a submarine-shaped object, red and white, two or three times as long as a car and about 3 meters high, at ground level. A figure was seen near this object, also something compared to a white flag.  When a car stopped in the vicinity, a flash from the object coincided with the sudden failure of the headlights.

Carswell AFB

February 4, 1954

An object was detected on radar some ten miles from the base, and was shortly afterwards seen by the control tower personnel as it passed over the base. The object  was silent and appears to have been somewhat aircraft-like shape, although no aircraft were known to be in the area at the time.

Cedar Hill

March 3, 1996, 9.15 PM

At about 9.15 p.m. two teenage boys looked out an upstairs window and saw a triangular UFO hovering above the prairie a mile away.  Cedar Hill is a suburb of Dallas, located southwest of the city, just south of Duncanville. The UFO was seen northwest of Cedar Hill, well beyond the intersection of Love Freeway (Highway 67) and Belt Line Road (Highway 1382).  Just beyond the sites lies a man-made reservoir called Joe Pool Lake.

According to the eyewitnesses, the UFO was joined by two other triangular objects. Each of the triangular UFOs had bright lights on the stern.  The trio floated around in the air about twenty degrees above the horizon.  At 9.20 or so, they were joined by six dark gray spherical UFOs.  These objects had blue and white lights at the "equators" of their globes.  The nine UFO's hovered there for another few minutes. Then the triangular UFO's ascended one by one, rising in the direction of the moon, while the circular UFO's scattered in all directions.

Converse

4.30 PM

Witness: Jack Rossen, ex-artillery observer. Three blue-white lights hovered then descended; 1.5 minutes later, one of them descended more.

Dallas

September 4, 1956, 9:00 PM

Witnesses: U.S marine Corps T/Sgt. R.D. Rogers and family. One large star, changing to red color, remained stationary for 20 minutes, then went west at 200 kts. (230 mph) Sighting lasted 23 minutes.
