I have been corresponding with a very nice gentleman who was gracious enough to help me with this photo and the unknown object which appears in this picture above. This man is the fellow sitting on the horse in his uniform. he has given me permission to place the pictures and his story on my site, but asking to keep his privacy. So I will not give out his name, or any personal information.

Dear Brian

As I told you, I am 77 years old, retired from a very successful career as an Aerospace Engineer, and owner of a successful, make that (profitable) business. I live a very comfortable life style with more than enough money to sustain nearly every desire I might have. I seek no notoriety, nor money, in fact I have gone to some considerable trouble to remain anonymous with regard to the photo taken in 1945.

Now, that having been said I ask you to please respect my privacy and to give no one my email address. If you intend to use any of the material I am about to disclose please do so without divulging your source directly. "unimpeachable sources" will do.

I am a graduate of UCLA with a major in BSME, and a minor on EE. I have attended Stanford for advanced studies in solid state physics. I hold certain patents in the semiconductor field. That will do to establish my credentials for now. (name deleted by HBCC).

With regard to the photo -- when I came home from the fighting in the South Pacific at the end of WW2 (I was in the 2nd Marine Division). I was given 30 days leave. My home was in the (deleted by HBCC), and the (deleted by HBCC) were the closest to my home. When I asked my father to go there with me as we used to do before the war he readily accepted and took along his camera (he was a professional photographer). His equipment was of the finest then obtainable.

While we were riding the fenced paddock leading to a mountain trail, he dismounted and carefully focused on me and my horse. The picture having been taken he remounted and we rode on. Many other pictures were taken that day and the roll was finished. After it was sent out for development and printing, we noticed on the small 3x5 print a tiny spec between the horse's head and my face. We all thought that it was a speck of dirt that had gotten on the lens due to the dust raised by the horses on that day, so nothing further was ever thought about it. Since there were many other fine pictures of me taken that day my Dad was quite satisfied.

The rejected photo was simply put into a box with hundreds of other "rejected" photos then put in storage. Some fifty years later when he died I was given the task of disposing of all the accumulated material related to his archives of photos.

When I came across this photo of me as a very young man I didn't even notice the "spec" in the picture I simply put it in my scanner and sent the image to my "Adobe Photo Shop" program. There for the first time I was able to find out what the dam spec was. I enlarged the picture to four times the original size as more and more detail became visible. As you can see for yourself. Now, more than fifty years after the picture was taken I finally discovered that there was no dust on the lens.

I had always been a skeptic about UFOs -- All of my life, -- to say that I was struck dumb is a huge understatement. I don't give a good god damn what anyone else sees in the picture. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I have seen a genuine UFO. And what is more I have the picture to prove it.

To this day when I look at that picture I am in awe. Neither my father or I had at the time the slightest inkling that anything was in the sky at the time, he was looking at me, and I was just posing, (a thing I often do) it is the ham actor in me. Some of my family has been on stage and some of film. (No Names Please). Suffice to say that I have always lived in the (deleted by HBCC).

Comment from HBCC, when I blew up the picture to a larger size, there seem to be two other objects to the right, behind this man on the horse.
