We meet a new girl at Hartley Heights , Juliette , but everybody calls her "Jet" . At first , she seems a nice girl , but we soon find out she has a bit of a criminal past . Jet notices Drazic , and although Anita warned her for him , she finds him very interesting ! And they seem to share a mutual interest in each other : Drazic can't take his eyes of Jet ! When school is finished , Jet is waiting outside the school in an expensive sports car . She asks Draz if he's interested in going for a ride , he agrees of course , and they both take off for a spin . But then it turns out that Jet stole the car , and she already had been in prison too ! Drazic is angry at her at first , for not telling her that "small" detail , but later , she dares Drazic to steal Barnett's car , making no big deal out of it ! Drazic , not wanting to make a fool of himself in front of Jet , steals Barnett's car and Jet is so pleased that she kisses him later on .
Kurt , still looking for a job , tries his luck in the army . During training , he meets Ox , who also dreams of a career in the army . Ox is worried however that he'll fail the hard physical tests .
Kurt decides to help him and they both go on exercise . After all the exams , the last physical exam is no problem for Kurt , but Ox fails . Kurt asks the chief to give the boy a second chance , and Ox may do his final test again , and passes ! Then they both go to the office , to find out about their final results , and Ox passed , but Kurt surprisingly gets to hear from the chief that he failed !
Not because of the tests , but because of his "history" at Hartley Heights , where we all know he punched a teacher . The chief tells him to finish his HSC first , and then he can come again and join the army if he still wants to .
EPISODE 171:
(December 15 , '98 on BBC 2)
Kurt is looking for a job after he left school , but he soon finds out it's not as easy as he thought to get a job without an HSC . At a supermarket though , he gets a security job and maybe he could even be promoted soon .
The new girl , Julliette , likes graffiti and she shows Drazic all of her paintings on the school walls . Drazic is impressed and he likes being with her. At the warehouse , Drazic wants to kiss her but she refuses and wants to go home . The next day at school , a new graffiti had been painted on the wall and Barnett is furious about it . She tells everyone the person who did it will be suspended , but nobody knows who did it ; except Drazic , who has a strong feeling about it that "J'ette"did it . Anita thinks the graffiti looks awful and it should be removed , so she and a couple of other students start cleaning it off . Sarah thinks about her future career and she decides to become a teacher . She asks Nat what's it like , and he tells him she can take over the history class for a couple of periods and find out . Nat however , leaves the classroom , and Sarah has to take over the noisy class be herself ! Drazic & Dennis make fun of her of course , and she gets second thoughts about the whole teaching stuff . But Nat tells her she should send the troublemakers out of class , and so , in her second hour she sends Lee and Ryan (still her boyfriend!) to Barnett's office , because they made a lot of noise in class ! Ryan is angry because of it , and now Sarah is even less likely to become a teacher .
Julliette wants to put graffiti in Barnett's office , and Drazic wants to help her with the stunt .
As soon as Barnett leaves , she sprays it on the wall , and they both can slip outside again before Barnett returns to her office . Barnett can't believe her eyes , but she still has no evidence of course who did it ! Later at the warehouse , when Drazic & J'ette are together again , J'ette confesses to him that when she was a kid she was sexually abused by her mother's boyfriend , and that's why she feels it so hard that he touches her . Drazic understands it , and he tells her he likes her a lot , and he wouldn't force her doing it .
Kurt quits his job at the supermarket , because he found out it's not really what he wanted to do anyway and he'd better come back to school to finish his HSC , and get a decent job.
EPISODE 172:
(January 05 , '99 on BBC 2)
Kurt comes back to school , and Lee gives him a hard time , because of the little fight between his father and Kurt some time ago . Kurt tries to calm down , and Barnett also gives him a warning that if he'd start another fight , he'll be expelled indefinately !
The Sharkpool isn't making a lot of money these days , and D'Espo is looking for some new ideas to attract more customers . He thinks one of those table-soccer machines will do the trick , and when the new machine arrives , he and Drazic are al excited about it . They start playing over & over , and they want to organise a "World Cup" competition . Jet , Draz' new girl isn't too fond about the whole thing , and she thinks Drazic should spend more time with her .
Sarah loves ice-skating , and she wants to teach it to Ryan who never did it before . He agrees to go with her , but afterwarts he regrets it after all , because he'd probably spend more time with his face in the ice than he was on his skates !
Lee keeps annoying Kurt , even in class . When he finaly throws a ball to Kurt's head , Kurt wants to settle this one and for all , and he tells Lee they'll have a fight one on one after school .
Lee didn't expect that reaction and he's very nervous about it , after all , he knows he can't beat Kurt in a million years ! When the two troublemakers are face to face , Lee finaly decides to avoid the fight and he apologizes to Kurt .
At the Sharkpool , the soccer competition is a huge success , and the place is crowded again !
Juliette hates it , and she wants to get even with D'Espo .
She hides herself , and when everybody left , she starts thrashing the place !
The next morning , D'Espo freaks out of course , and he calls the cops .
At school , Jet admits to Drazic that she did it . Drazic can't believe it , and makes her clear that she'd better not do anything like that to his mate again !
But Jet explains to him that she never even had any friends , and that's why she needs Drazic's company now more than ever , so they make up .
EPISODE 173
(January 12 , '99 on BBC 2)
Drazic & Jet are having a great time together , and Anita doesn't like it . At school , Jet constantly interrupts the class , and Draz' behaviour isn't improving neither ! Barnett calls the two in her office , and she warns Jet that if she doesn't change her attitude soon , she's going to send her back to the social center she came from . Anita also talks to Drazic and points him out that Jet is nothing but bad news .
Sarah wants to enter an ice- skating competition , together with a guy she met during skating .
Ryan says it's OK , if she really likes ice-skating , so she starts training every day . But soon she finds out that her skating-partner is more interested in her than in ice-skating , so she decides to quit ice-skating later on .
D'Espo still is having financial problems , and because of all the stress , he made a wrong order : 300 meat pies instead of 30 ! At school , the only one who loves to eat those pies is Dennis , and Ryan has a terrific idea to get rid of all the pies : a meat-pie competition . Dennis and Kurt will participate to the contest ; but when the contest begins , Dennis had already eaten too many pies , and he drops out , and D'Espo will have to participate himself . Luckily for him , he wins !
Jet wants to have a little chat with Anita , and she follows her into the ladies'room . Jet tells her to stay away from Drazic , that she already had her chance and blew it , and bad things could happen if she keeps annoying him !
After school , Jet & Drazic have a drink together , and when they are about to pay for it , Jet complains about not getting the right change from the storekeeper . Drazic distracts the man as he accidentally hits a shelf on his way out , and then Jet steals some money . At the warehouse , Jet shows Draz the money , and Drazic freaks out of anger ! He tells her she's stupid to even try doing that , especially because she has already a bad record with the cops .
At Sharkpool , Anita asks Drazic why he looks so upset , and he explains her the whole story .
Then Jet arrives , seeing Anita & Drazic together ! She almost starts a fight with Anita , but Draz can hold the two apart . Jet runs away , and outside she starts yelling at some cops , and trashing a terrace . She gets arrested , and they send her back to the social center !
Drazic blames himself for letting this happen , but Anita tries to comfort him and makes him clear that Jet had an attitude problem , and it's better this way .
EPISODE 174
(January 19 , '99 on BBC 2)
NEW CHARACTER : THANIA
Drazic gets injured , because the basket ring fell down on him , after Ryan showed everybody one of his "dunks". After he gets back from the hospital , Draz tells Ryan he has a small concussion , and he might be feeling a bit weird the next 24 hours . Ryan believes him and he says he'll do all the work at the warehouse , so Draz can get some rest .
In art class , Sarah paints a nice landscape . Thania (a new character !) , however , tells her the painting sucks and has no meaning at all . Then the other students get to see Tania's work , which is a bit provocative . Sarah thinks she has no right to paint that sort of stuff , because it makes fun of Christianity .
Somebody from the art gallery gets to see the works , and picks out Tania's as best painting .
The next day , the painting seems to have disappeared , and Thania immediately suspects Sarah .
Sarah took it , but after Nat strongly told the students to bring it back or suffer the consequences , she puts it back .
Lee is a big fan of a blues singer called "Tommy Emmannuel" , and he's desperate to go to his concert , but the tickets are all sold out . Then Dennis tells him he knows where he rehearses , and maybe he can find Tommy there . Lee goes to see Tommy , but the doorkeeper won't let him in . Lee asks Dennis to help him , and after Dennis dressed himself as a pizzadude , he gets in !
Dennis was so impressed about the rehearsal , that he forgot to ask about the tickets . So Lee has to go back , and again , he's stopped by the doorkeeper . But just as he's about to leave , Tommy arrives in his car and almost hits Lee . Then he asks Lee to play something for him , and Tommy is really impressed by Lee's work !
Draz comes back to school , and tells Barnett he didn't have time to do his science work . Barnett tells him he has no excuse , but maybe if she'd reported the accident to the department , he could get a special treatment for his work . But when later the investigator arrives , and tells Draz he has to write down a statement , and maybe the case would even to go to court , he decides to stop faking his injuries . Ryan is mad at him of course , for letting him do all the work , but Drazic tells him he only did it to get more time to do the science work .
Now the truth has come out , Drazic has to stay up all night and still finish his science work , which he'll finaly deliver in time !
EPISODE 175
(January 27 , '99 on NED3)
On their way to school , Lee & Drazic see a nice motorcycle , and Lee tells Draz he always dreamed of having such a bike . Drazic tells him he can get him a bike for $200 only , and Lee thinks he can lend the money from his dad .
Nat gives him the money , not knowing his son is about to buy a motorcycle , and Lee buys the bike . Drazic however , tells him he has to tune it up first and maybe repair it a bit . He also tells Lee he has to make a "test drive" first , but instead , he drives to school to show "his" bike to the girls ! Lee's furious at Drazic for keeping the bike such a long time , and he tells him it's his turn now to drive a bit . Although Draz warns him the bike isn't finished yet , Lee goes for a ride and the bike breaks down . Unfortunately for him , his mother saw him on the bike , and his parents force him to sell the bike again . Lee finaly sells the bike , for about $80 only , to the same guy he bought it from !
At school , Thania keeps an eye on Ryan , during basketball . She asks him to pose for her , and Ryan agrees , without telling Sarah . But he didn't know Thania meant "nude modelling" , and after she finished painting , she brings her drawings to school , and shows it to all the girls , including Sarah ! Sarah is very upset , and thinks Ryan slept with Thania . After Ryan tells Sarah he'll pose for Thania again , Sarah tells him she doesn't want to see him anymore , and they brake up .
Barnett wants her HSC students to know more about Australian history , and therefore they learn about the Australian flag in class . Kurt & Dennis are a bit disruptive , and Barnett punishes them by ordering them to hoist the Aussie flag each day before school !
One day , the Aussie flag is missing , but there's an Aboriginal flag instead .
They catch the thief however , and it turns out to be an Aboriginal , who was upset because of the
cruel history the Aussie flag reminded him of .
Kurt and Dennis feel a bit guilty , and they decide to help the guy .So from now on , each morning they'll hoist both flags up each day , the Australian & Aboriginal one , brotherly side to side !
EPISODE 176
(January 28 , '99 on NED3)
Lee wants to be a part of the boys'group , and when he finds out Kurt got a new tattoo , he also wants one . He also asks Kurt to help him train his muscles , but Kurt tells him he'd only hurt himself with those heavy weights . The next day , Lee shows everybody he also got a tattoo , but later in class , he has to tell them that it's a fake , because his dad wouldn't like it if he got a real one .
Anita finds out that many of the students take pills against headaches , and to cope with all the stress involving the HSC year . She tells Barnett about it , and Barnett decides to inform the students in class that although those drugs are legal , they can cause serious damage if you take them on a regular base . Thania , who told Anita she was also using pills , tells her to mind her own business and she shouldn't have told it to Barnett . But Anita tells her she'd only wanted to help her fellow students with it . Thania's mother , is a fine yoga teacher , and when she finds out about her daughter taking pills , she decides to teach the students about yoga . So they all go to the gym room and they find out how relaxing yoga can be , and the don't need pills anymore.
Ryan has bought some opera tickets , because Sarah likes opera a lot . But because they broke up , Sarah doesn't want to go out with Ryan , even if the tickets are very expensive .
Drazic wants to go to a truck race , and because he has to work at Shark Pool during the race , he asks Sarah if she could take over his job while he's at the race . Sarah agrees , and later at Shark Pool , she sees Ryan and another girl leaving for the opera together . Drazic knows it hurts a lot to see the person you love with somebody else (doesn't he , Anita ?!) , and he decides to stay at Shark Pool and comfort Sarah with a cool "opera scene à la Draz" ! (See also the cool picture of it in the pics'area !) Sarah thanks Drazic for comforting her , and she tells Drazic how beautiful opera can be .
Lee got himself a real tattoo after all , and when he shows Kurt & Dennis , they laugh at him and tell him what a joke he is , trying to be a part of the group like that .
Nat also isn't very pleased with it , but tells his son it's his choice , and he'll have to life with it now!
EPISODE 177
(January 29 , '99 on NED3)
Sarah finds out she's pregnant , and she doesn't now what to do now , after she just broke up with Ryan . When Ryan finds out , he wants her to have an abortion , because they aren't ready for parenthood , and the HSC exams are to start in a couple of weeks .
Sarah however , rather wants a child , and she tells him it's not his problem anymore , because they broke up . After a chat with her dad , she decides to have the baby after all .
Drazic & Lee are disrupting biology class , and Barnett wants them to clean the school garden , so they would be useful for a chance . During cleaning , Lee finds a spider and he gets really scared of it , especially after Drazic tells him one of his fake giant spider stories , and that they could be very poisonous ! So Lee has nightmares about spiders all the time , and the only thing he does lately is disinfecting his room and even the school with insecticides !
Later at school , somebody from the biology museum is teaching the class about spiders , and Lee finds out they aren't that creepy after all , and he overcomes his spider fear .
Thania's mum is still teaching yoga lessons at Hartley Heights , and she asks Kurt to come along too , because he seems to have problems with his back . So Kurt joins the yoga group , and he seems to be the only male in the group . But Thania's mum tells him to relax and she gives him a massage , and the pain seems to go away immediately . He tells Thania about it , and she says he can borrow one of her mother's books about yoga . Thania finds Kurt very interesting and asks him to catch a movie with her after school , but Kurt doesn't show up ; instead , she finds him at home with her mother , during a massage session . Thania gets the wrong idea about it , but her mum tells her nothing happened between her and Kurt . And because she doesn't want to upset her daughter anymore , she tells Kurt he'd better find another yoga teacher .
EPISODE 178
(February 1st , '99 on NED3)
Thania and Anita feel like their life after school is boring because they don't have a boyfriend at the time . They think the boys at Hartley are pretty boring , and so they decide to go out somewhere else , where they can meet "real" men . Thania knows a cool place , and so every day, they go to that place and drink a bit , meet some guys , etc... Thania however , doesn't know when to stop drinking alcohol , and she gets drunk all the time . One day , Anita left the bar already , Thania gets so drunk that a guy has the opportunity to take her outside and he amost rapes her .
The next day , she tells her mum the whole story , and she promises her mum to stop drinking so much , because she doesn't want to end up in that same situation again .
Dennis wants to do something about his image , because he isn't very succesfully with the girls , and he wants to impress a girl named Ched . He confesses to Kurt that he's still a virgin , and he'll stay that for a long time if he doesn't change his image .
Drazic wants to help him change his image , and later at school , Dennis turns up in a nice suit !
The boys laugh at him , but Ched thinks it's cool , and he's sweet to do that for her . But unfortunately she tells him she's lesbian , so Dennis'll have to find him some other girl .
At Shark Pool , he talks to Lee , and Lee also confesses he's still a virgin . Then the two boys are proud of it , and they want to tell it to the whole class , because it's nothing to be ashamed of.
Sarah wants to keep her baby , and she goes to a baby day care , to see how it's really like taking care of babies all day . Later Ryan turns up at the day care , and brought Sarah a present . He also tells her he wants her back , and after the other women at the day care told her what a nice guy he seems to be , she'll try to give their relationship a second chance .
EPISODE 179
(February 2nd , '99 on NED3)
Barnett wants 2 students to make the yearbook , in which they'll have to put in some nice pictures to remember all HSC students . Thania volunteers , and after Drazic hears making the yearbook means also missing out on classes , he agrees to help her with that .
Drazic thinks it should be a yearbook that everybody will remember , so he decides to get rid of Thania's ordinary pictures , and take some special ones himself . He catches each student in a typical moment for each of them : There's one of Anita & a Barbie doll , one of Lee looking under Thania's skirt , etc... !
At the Delaines'house , Nat & Jill have some conversation problems , and Lee is scared that his parents might divorce . So he asks Sarah's help to make a delicious romantic dinner for his parents , which will hopefully bring them closer together again .
And that seems to work : the next morning his parents tell him they had a wonderful night together!
At school , Ryan is always acting very agressive during sports . He tries to pick on the other boys by insulting them , even in class . Sarah asks him why he's acting like that , and he tells her he wants to become tuffer before the baby arrives , so he can be a good dad .
Nat doesn't like Ryan's agressiveness and during sports , he joins in and he picks on Ryan like he's been doing to the other boys all the time , by telling him that Sarah's baby isn't Ryans !
That was just a bad joke of course , but Ryan gets very angry and leaves the field .
Then Ryan spots Nat & Thania's mum in the staf room , liking each others company it seems .
So Ryan goes to see Nat and tells him it isn't fair to his wife what he saw in the staff room .
Nat answers him nothing happened and he should mind his own business , rather then always trying to insult the others . Ryan thinks about it during an "ethics" lesson , and he finaly apologizes to the other students for his bad behaviour .
The yearbook is finished , and Draz & Thania are proud on their "unforgetable" work ! Barnett however tells the two that it's a work to be ashamed of , in which they make a fool of each student ! But the students think it's very cool actually , and at the end of the episode we can see all the funny pics from the yearbook !
EPISODE 180
(February 3rd , '99 on NED3)
Lee gets to see his dad together with Tania's mum , Isobel , on the beach . They're obviously liking each other company a lot , and Lee's pretty sure they're having an affair .
At school , Ryan confesses to Lee that he saw the two lovebirds together in the staff room .
In class , Lee gets very angry with his dad , and shouts to him in front of the whole class , that his father's a hypocrite !
Nat's always very late at home , and lies to Jill about having a lot of work to do . Lee strongly suggests to Nat that he'd better end this affair or he will tell his mother .
That night , Nat arrives home late , and confesses to Jill that he's having an affair . Lee hears his parents shouting all the time , and it seems that his father will leave the house very soon .
Draz thinks Sarah's spending too much time with Ryan at the warehouse , and she should pay her part of the rent , because she's also using the food Draz had paid for .
Ryan tells Drazic he'll pay her rent , but then she'll move in with them . Draz has no problem with that , but later on , when Sarah tells him how it will be with the baby in the warehouse , and she starts cleaning up the whole place , Drazic has second thoughts about it !
He asks Ryan if things can go back as they were , and both Sarah & Ryan agree to that .
It's MOCK-UP week at Hartley Heights ! Drazic organises a contest , where everybody has to steal people's property , in order to get a ransom for it , and bring it back to them after mock-up week .
Those who bring the most original stuff to school , win the mock-up contest .
Eventually , Dennis & Anita manage to steal "Barnett's cat" , and Draz officially declares them as winners ! But then , when they open the cat's box , the cat's dead ! Anita thinks Barnett will expell them for this , but Barnett finds out and tells her it's not even her cat ! Barnett tells the students to return all the stolen goods to their owners , otherwise they'll be punished for it !
So far the contest , then Mock-up day starts !!!
Drazic starts the mock-up fight , with water-guns and flower bombs , and soon everybody on the schoolyard is involved in the coolest mock-up fight Hartley Heigths has ever seen , including Barnett !
EPISODE 181
(February 4th , '99 on NED3)
The exams are in a few days , and all students are learning all day . Well , actually almost all stundents : Draz , Kurt & Ryan aren't feeling very much for it to study all day . They think that all the stuff they'd seen in class , they haven't forgotten and they decide not to study at all !
Anita however , is getting very nervous about the exams , and especially when she doesn't get a physics book from the library , she thinks she's going to fail . Dennis wants to help her , and together they will search the Internet to find all about physics . Then they find a great "cheats"site , with a lot of HSC questions and answers on it . Anita thinks it's cheating , but Dennis confinces her it's the only way to get a good mark . But unfortunately Barnett walks in the computer room , seeing the two students copying the HSC cheats . She tells them that none of those questions will be on the exams , so they'd better study during the time they have left .
Barnett also helps Anita with her physics , so everything is going to be fine .
Ryan and Kurt see Drazic in the park with an older woman . They also see that Draz is learning , and they decide to ask him about it later on . At the warehouse , Drazic confesses them that he's seeing a private teacher , and first they think he's a looser for studying when they decided not to ,
but then the teacher tells the boys they'd better learn if they want to pass and so they do .
By the way , Kurt and Ryan did some secret studying theirselves , because they both got second thoughts about the whole "not studying thing" , so Drazic isn't the only one to blame .
So now that everybody's studying , the HSC exams may begin !
EPISODE 182
(February 5th , '99 on NED3)
The HSC exams start today , and everybody gets very nervous about it . Drazic even gets up too late , and arrives at school 15 minutes late ! Barnett warns him that officially he can't do his exam when he isn't on time , but she'll make an exception just this once . Draz asks Ryan to wake him every morning , and to make sure that he gets to school . But at night , Draz can't sleep and he studies all night to pass the time . During the History exam , he falls asleep , and when he wakes up , time's up and he was unable to do all the questions !
Anita breaks a mirror at Shark Pool , and D'Espo then tells her that means 7 years of bad luck !
First she doesn't believe that , but the next day , she gets bad luck during the exam , and she starts believing D'Espo . Kurt tries to convince her that the whole bad luck stuff is just rubbish , but she actually believes in it . Then D'Espo tries to help her by making her an appointment with "Madame Rosini" , who can help Anita to get rid of her curse . Anita believes it helped , and the next day she feels lucky already .
Sarah gets sick all the time , and Dennis hates to see her throw up all the time and tells her to loosen up . But Sarah makes him clear that she's only sick because of the baby , not because of stress . She asks him not to tell Ryan , because he would worry too much and fail his exams .
At least he can pass his exams then , because she herself can't concentrate at all because of the baby .
Finaly , at Shark Pool , Anita finds out that "Madame Rosini" was a fake and actually worked at Shark Pool , but hey , it helped , so she thanks D'Espo for helping her pass the exams !
EPISODE 183
(February 8th , '99 on NED3)
The HSC class is preparing for the formal . Ryan asks D'Espo to help him find a decent place for the party , and D'Espo says he'll organise everything . D'Espo however comes up with the idea of setting up a giant tent at Hartley Heigths High . Also , the party is going to be held in the afternoon , and because it's on school property , there'll be no alcohol allowed !
Everybody is planning not to go at first , but Ryan tells everyone it'll be great . The theme will be "the great 70's" and all the graduates have to dress up in a 70's outfit .
Drazic isn't to fond of the 70's clothes , and decides not to go .
Then Anita doesn't feel like going neither , but Lee tries to cheer her up ,
and he offers her some "happy pills" he bought from a friend at Shark Pool .
Kurt has feelings for Thania , but he doesn't admit it . At the warehouse , Thania moves in and Kurt wants to help her make the class'98 banner .
Kurt also dressed him up for the formal , but Thania says she hasn't got a 70's outfit and she doesn't really want to go ; they decide to stay at the warehouse , and they start kissing !
Then her mother turns up with a 70's outfit for Thania , and so Kurt and Thania decide to go after all and deliver the banner at the party .
The formal starts , and everybody turns up in a great 70's look . Anita and Lee , both drugged by the pills , turn up in a very happy mood together . Then Draz enters , and he starts dancing with Anita . Drazic notices the weird behaviour of Nite , and asks her what's wrong .
Then she loses conscience and Lee admits she took XTC . Barnett calls an ambulance
and luckily Anita is going to be fine soon .
Drazic is furious at Lee for giving Anita the pills , and also Barnett and Nat give him a lecture .
Later at the warehouse , Ryan wants Anita to stay there till she's fine , and Anita is afraid Drazic now doesn't want to talk to her anymore after she's been so stupid . But Drazic tells her the only thing that matters is that she's OK , and it seems that the passion between those two is growing again ......
EPISODE 184
(February 9th , '99 on NED3)
Anita and Sarah joined summer class , in which Barnett tells the students how to apply for a job . She also tells there's a vacancy open for a receptionist , and Anita & Sarah both decide to apply for it . Sarah gets picked for the job , but when the boss finds out she's pregnant , she fires her and lets Anita work for her instead . But when Nite finds out what a discriminating boss she's working for , she decides to quit the job also .
Kurt thinks the only way to make money is to start an own business , and he talks about it with Dennis and Drazic . Kurt thinks they could start with lawn mowing , but he doesn't have the money yet to pay for a big electric mower . Later Drazic tells Dennis he'd maybe can get an electric mower for free , at school . They go ask Barnett if they could mow the school lawn , with the expensive electric mower , and Barnett agrees . After Barnett's gone , the two boys drive away with the mower and start making money with it by mowing other people's lawns .
When Kurt sees his friends spending a lot of money at Shark Pool , he realizes they're on to something . Together with Thania , he finds out the truth and he follows Drazic & Dennis on their next job . There the three boys have a big arguement , and then the mower accidentally destroys the owners' expensive roses . The man demands $500 in return , the sort of money Draz & Dennis don't have of course ! At school , Barnett finds out the whole thing and above the $500 , they'll have to work at school at a low salary to pay the damages .
Lee celebrates his 18th birthday , together with his mother , Ryan , Sarah and Anita .
His dad also shows up , but Lee tells him to leave immediately . But Nat tells his son he's going to move out of town tomorrow and start a new job at a new school . Ryan convinces Lee to give his dad a break , and the next day , before Nat leaves , Lee gives him a last hug , after which Nat leaves town .

Everybody is very nervous today , they're going to get the HSC results !
Some of the students meet at the post office , and there they receive their envelopes containing the results . Anita's envelope is missing , probably a small failure , so she'll have to wait a bit .
Dennis gets his envelope but he doesn't want to know his result , because he knows it'll be bad .
Kurt passes with a good mark , and so do Ryan and Sarah . Kurt wants to thank Barnett and organises a dinner at school , together with Thania and Dennis .
At the dinner , Dennis opens his envelope after all and he finds out he failed big time . So he tells Barnett she'll have to keep up with him another year , but Barnett tells him she's going to work at another , bigger school next year .
Kurt says he's going to study Marine Biology , like he always wanted to , but Thania isn't pleased to hear that . She tells him their relationship will be over , but Kurt convinces her he'll keep in touch and visit her during the holidays . At the warehouse , Drazic received his results , and he failed like he expected . Anita visits him , and when they sit on the couch , she starts crying , and tells Drazic she failed too . Now she can't start her designer studies after all , but Draz comforts her and they start kissing ! They decide to give their relationship another chance , like in the old days .Lee is also waiting at home for the results , and when he finds out he failed , he decides not to go back to school . Then Jill orders a pizza to cheer him up , and a while later a girl named Gem delivers the pizza . Lee is attracted by Gem , and the next days he keeps ordering pizzas , just to see Gem again . Gem tells Lee she'll be doing her HSC next year , so Lee reconsiders going back to school after all .Sarah and Ryan are both very happy they passed , but Sarah tells Ryan they'd better startvlooking for a good job . Ryan meets his cricket legend Tony Moss , and Tony asks Ryan to work for him .But the job involves travelling around the world , so he gets second thoughts about it because he can't leave Sarah and the baby .
That evening , Sarah & Ryan go for a walk , and suddenly Sarah gets horrible pains in her stomach . She goes to the hospital and she finds out she has a miscarriage .
Sarah tells Ryan they both have to go on with their lives , and tells Ryan to take the job after all .
She wants to become a teacher and it's better this way . At Shark Pool , there's a big "goodbye party" , and all the HSC students are united again . Kurt wants to take a picture of the whole gang , so he can remember the good days at Hartley Heights when he's in Townsville doing Marine Biology . Sarah and Ryan also say goodbye to each other , but they are determined to see each other again in the future .
EPISODE 186

NEW CHARACTERS : ZAC (student) , CARSON (new principal) , JACKIE (new teacher)
A new school year starts at Hartley Heights , and the new principal Carson wants to get rid of the "intimate" behaviour between students on school property .
So no more kissing , and also in class , he splits up the boys and girls in two parts of the class !
Lee and the others want to protest , and they decide to organize a "kissing party" on the school yard : when Carson arrives , they'll all start kissing simultanously ! Carston is furious and he orders Lee and Gem in his office . Lee doesn't want Gem to be punished and he tells Carson that he actually forced Gem to kiss him . First he gets expension for a week , but because he's so honest he only gets expelled for one day .
Drazic gets sacked at Shark Pool , because he wanted a raise now he left school .
Looking for a new job , he visits the Government Unemployment Service .
There , a TV team is just filming and doing interviews about youth unemployment . Drazic also answers some questions before the camera , and because he does the interview like a
real professional , they ask him if they could make a couple of interviews more , about his daily
life , where he lives , hangs out , etc... At night , the documentary is shown on TV , and Drazic is so proud of being the star himself . The next day , the TV team is visiting him again and delivers him many responses on the show and even applications of firms that want to give Drazic a job !
At school , the new science teacher Jackie decides there can be max. 20 students in her class , for the benefit of the whole HSC class . There are 25 students , because 6 of them joined the class very late , so Jackie will do a test with those 6 students and only one of them can stay .
Thania and Zac have to do the test also , and Thania gets the top mark and gets the last free spot in science class . Zac , who wanted to do sound engineering , needed science as much as her , and decides to leave school , if they don't let him do the subject . Thania wants to help Zac and brings him back to class , where Jackie first orders Zac to leave , but then all the other students think Zac should stay and Jackie welcomes him in her class after all .
In English class , Carson lets the students do a part of "Romeo & Julliette" , and Lee plays the part of Romeo , where Dennis plays the part of Julliette ! The scene in the book ends with a kiss , but Dennis isn't too fond of kissing Lee of course ! However , Carson is very pleased with their acting work , and so is the senior class !
EPISODE 187
(February 12th , '99 on NED3)
Drazic gets very popular because of his TV appearance and a horeca company offers him a job .
The boss however tells him that he'll have to get rid of his eyebrow ring when he wants to work there . Drazic refuses to do this and everything is filmed . That evening , they make Draz look like a fool on TV because he refused the job for such a small piece of jewelry . The next day , all the people on the street are giving bad comments to Drazic and he gets very angry about it .
At school , Lee asks Gemma to go out , and she agrees to go to Shark Pool with him .
The morning after , Dennis asks Lee for all the details and Lee tells Dennis he had slept with Gemma . Dennis tells the whole thing to his friends and soon the whole school knows because
"Lee and Gemma do it" is written on the walls . Gemma is furious , because she never had sex with Lee , and she tells Lee she doesn't want to see his face again .
Later Lee apologizes to her in front of all the students and Gem decides to give the boy a break .
D'Espo asks Thania to help him in the school canteen , and she agrees .
Soon Zac finds out that D'Espo wants more , after he had given a bunch of flowers to Thania .
He warns Thania , and that night at Shark Pool , D'Espo admits he loves Thania .
After all the customers are gone , he invites Thania in his office , and when D'Espo gets there , the lights are already out . Before D'Espo can lay his hands on Thania , Zac turns up and tells D'Espo to stop . Thania explains she's not interested in D'Espo as a lover , and she leaves Shark Pool with Zac .
EPISODE 188
(February 15th , '99 on NED3)
Drazic is spending his time doing nothing , and he finds out the police are following him . The cops suspect him of robbing an old lady at the mall , but Draz tells them he didn't do it . They don't believe him , and they start asking him all sorts of questions .
Later Draz visits a store a buys Anita a nice piece of jewelry . Anita is very excited about it , but asks him where he got the money from . Draz tells her that's not important , and Anita thanks him again . The next day , the police visit the school however , and start Anita asking questions about Drazic . Anita tells them nothing , but later she tells Thania that Draz maybe did rob the lady to pay for the jewelry . But luckily the cops find the real offender of the crime , so they won't give Drazic a hard time anymore , and Anita tells him she's sorry for not believing him .
Zac's father has his own stone-mason yard , and he needs Zac to help him run the family business .Therefore , Zac'll have to quit school , but Zac tells his dad he's not interested in joining the business . He wants to do sound engineering and he needs to get his HSC first .
His father howver convinces him the HSC is less important and Zac quits school after all .
Carson suspends Dennis , but he wants to give Dennis an unusual punishment .
He offers Dennis the opportunity to become the new school represetative , but he will have to take this job very seriously . Dennis agrees , and in the beginning , Dennis thinks he's very good at telling the other students what to do , and it's much fun too ! But his popularity among the students drops immediately , and later he tells Carson he's no good as a school representative .
Also , he wants to regain his image as the bad boy , so he starts throwing garbage all over the principals' car , so Carson will have to suspend him again !
Finaly , Anita convinces Drazic to come back to school with her , so they can spend more time together and he wouldn't be wasting his time anymore .
EPISODE 189
(February 16th , '99 on NED3)
Zac decides to go back to school after all , because he passed the science test very good .
His father offers him the choice : he can stay at home if he works for him , but if he goes back to school , he'll have to leave home . Zac can't believe it , and he leaves home . He spends the night sleeping at school , and when Lee finds out , Lee tells Zac he can stay at his place for a while .
In class , Carson tells the students a cop will be coming to Hartley Heights to inform the students about safety at school , and to keep an eye on them in the school yard . Drazic isn't pleased with it , especially when he finds out it's the same cop , Todd , who followed him a while ago and gave him such a hard time . Dennis also wants to make fun of Tod , and later during basketball , he asks the cop to play a game one on one with him . Drazic sees his friend losing the game against Todd , and he takes away the cops'hat and leaves . In class , Carson tells the students about the stolen hat and he takes this very seriously . Todd suspects Draz , but he has no proove .
Later , some boys from outside school are looking for trouble on the yard , and Drazic gets involved in a fight with them . Todd's able to stop the fight and he helps Drazic to get up .
Drazic still isn't feeling to thank him for it , but later on , Anita and the others convince him the cop isn't so bad after all and Drazic returns the hat .
In science class , everybody is falling asleep because of the boring lessons of Jackie . The girls go ask her to change her way of teaching , but Jackie tells them they can leave if they think science is too difficult for them . Then the girls go tell Carson about it , and he decides to visit the science class , during Jackie's lesson . Jackie is very nervous in front of the principal and she spoils a chemical mixture which causes a fire . Dennis luckily can stop the fire with the fire extinguiser , and Carson tells her it's just an accident . Jackie then asks the girls for advice , and they tell her science class would be more fun if they can do the experiments theirselves .
Jackie thinks to give this a try , and she brings some make-up and other chemical based products
to class , which the students apreciate a lot !
Finaly , Zac's father is visiting Zac at the Delaines'house , giving Zac a last chance to come back home . But Zac is determined to stay at school , and he's sorry it has to turn out this way .
EPISODE 190
(February 17th , '99 on NED3)
A new student , Mario , joins the senior class , and Dennis is picking on him because of his Italian background . Mario is also an excellent soccer player , but Dennis thinks
basketball rules , so the two argue about which game will be played on the court . When the majority of the boys wants to play soccer , Dennis talks to Carson about it , and he warns the principal that there will be serious injuries on the court if he lets the boys play there .
So Carson tells Mario and his mates to find a new place to play soccer , and Dennis can basket again , on his own . Later Dennis takes a look at the soccer game and finds out it's not so bad after all , and Mario tells him he has a free spot for Dennis in his team , as a goalie . Dennis gives it a try and he seems to be doing very well ! Anita wants to take some self defence classes , organized by Todd , the school officer . She also has feelings for Todd but she tries to hide it . Later , when Todd and Anita are alone , they almost end up kissing , but Thania walks in and nothing happens . Drazic thinks it's stupid that his girlfriend takes self defence classes , but Anita convinces him it's worth doing . But Draz feels there's more to it , because Anita is like avoiding his company , and she's always very friendly with Todd .
Lee asked Gem out to go to a concert , but she doesn't turns up . Lee is angry for it , but because Gem seems a bit upset , Lee wants to bring her some flowers the next day . Gem's sister opens the door , and Lee finds out Gem's sister is in a wheelchair . She tells him it's her fault that Gem couldn't make it to the concert , because she isn't really able to cook for herself . Later , Gem's sister calls Lee and invites him for dinner . During dinner , Gem's sister starts embarrasing Gem in front of Lee , and makes him clear that it's Gem's fault she's in a wheelchair now .
Zac still stays at the Delaines'house , and Jill is having a hard time giving Zac his privacy .Lee tells him he shouldn't worry about that , and his mum just needs to get used to the fact that he's living there too now .
Finaly , Anita goes to the youth police office , where Todd works , and she tells Todd that she doesn't want to do self defence classes anymore . Todd however , makes her clear that he likes her a lot , and they end up kissing each other !
EPISODE 191
(February 18th , '99 on NED3)
Anita is very serious about her relationship with Todd , the police officer . Todd tells her that she should tell Drazic , and split up with him , because sooner or later he'll find out . Anita tries to tell Draz that their relationship isn't working anymore , but Drazic tells her he'll change and things will get better in the future . He also asks Nite to move in with him at the warehouse , but Anita tells him that's not likely to happen . Draz thinks there's somebody else she's seeing , but Anita wouldn't tell him . So he follows Nite , and he finaly finds out that Todd's her new date . Drazic can't believe his eyes , seeing his public enemy nr.1 kissing Anita , and he's furious ! The day after , he looks up Todd , and he wants to start a fight with him , but Todd tells him violence won't solve a thing . At school , Drazic grabs Anita to an empty classroom , and there they start to argue about the whole thing . Draz blames her for lying to him all the time , but she tells him their relationship is finished , whether Todd is there or not . After Nite leaves the classroom , Drazic starts trashing the whole classroom ! Dennis tries to calm him down , but Draz won't listen and even Carson doesn't have any effect on stopping him . Then Carson calls the cops , and Todd is with them , who then tells Carson he doesn't want to arrest Draz . Draz shouts at Todd and almost starts another fight , and he tells Carson about Todd & Nite . Carson understands his anger , but he tells him life goes on and he will not expell him .
Meanwhile Lee is going on a date with Gem's handicaped sister ,Carlie . Together they have a wonderful afternoon , and because Lee was so nice to her , Carlie kisses him and reccons they're an item now . Carlie tells Gem about it , and Gem advices Lee the next day to tell Carlie it's a misunderstanding , and they are not really a couple . Lee follows Gem's advice , but hurts Carlie with it , and Carlie is angry with Gem for being so protective .
Marco is showing off with his new pair of shoes , made of real alligator leather . Thania is upset about it and tells him how cruel it is to kill off animals for such a stupid purpose . In science class , Jackie tells Thania to think twice before making judgements , because Thania's make-up was also tested on animals . Thania admits she didn't think of it that way , and has to apologize .
Finaly , Anita is visiting Draz at the warehouse , and comes to tell him she's sorry she had to break up with him , but she can't change her feelings for Todd , after which she tells him she's going to leave school. Draz beggs her to give him another chance , but without result . And so , Drazic ends up alone , crying , and not knowing what to do now without his true love .
EPISODE 192
(February 19th , '99 on NED3)
Dennis and Mario go on a double date : Mario asked Angie to bring her girlfriend , Sophie , as Dennis'date for the evening . First Dennis doesn't want to go out with Sophie , because everybody calls her "the fat cow" , but later he realizes that she's a nice girl and the two are having a great time . Dennis even asks her out again , and she enjoys his company a lot .
At Sharkpool however , Sophie hears Dennis making a fool out of her in front of his friends , saying she eats too much and stuff like that . The next day , Sophie tells Dennis to get lost , and she explains him that she heard the whole conversation at Sharkpool . Dennis feels very sorry for her and wants to make it up . He asks her to give him another chance , because he thinks she has the most gorgeous eyes , and he wants to be with her . Sophie agrees , and together with Dennis they go to Sharkpool where Dennis shows his friends that he's not ashamed to be with Sophie .
"Prince" , Carlie's horse , is very ill and has to be killed to stop its suffering . But only Gem knows that , and when she tells Lee , he thinks she should inform her sister immediately . Gem tells him she won't , because it would break Carlie's heart . Lee goes to see Carlie and tells her himself , and Carlie is furious at Gem for not telling her the truth . But Carlie has to face the fact that Prince is really ill , and together , they go to the stables to pay the horse a last visit .
After that , Carlie decides to leave the city and move back in with her parents on the farm .
At school , D'Espo's canteen isn't making a lot of profit , and Thania wants to change that before she looses her job . She comes up with the idea of placing a cappucino machine and selling her self made cake . Then Carson lets her place some tables and chairs before the canteen , and D'Espo brings the football game with him and puts it in the yard . He calls the renewed canteen "La Dolce Vita" and it's a big success ! Too successful actually , because now the kids stay at the canteen all the time , and stop going to their classes in time . So Carson puts an end to "La Dolce Vita" and suggests D'Espo to bring back the old canteen as it was before .
Drazic is still not over Anita , and also not over the fact that she really left school . When another girl tries to use Anitas' empty locker , he gets angry and tells her she shouldn't touch the locker . The girl is upset , and later Draz realizes his mistake and tells the girl , Daphne , he was wrong and she can use the locker if she wants to . The girl asks him if Anita was a good friend of his , and Draz tells her she was very special for him , and leaves .
EPISODE 193
(February 22nd , '99 on NED3)
Lee and Zac are looking for a singer for Lee's song . They hear Gem singing at school , and Zac thinks she'd be an excellent choice . Lee says he won't let Gem sing the song , because he wrote the song for her , and she can't sing about herself . But after doing some auditions at school , none of the other students seem to have a great voice , so Zac asks Gem to do some testing at home , without Lee knowing about it . With the song , they want to participate to a contest , where you can win a free recording at "Ice Records" . Gem and Zac make a demo tape at Lee's place , and when Lee gets home , he catches the two kissing each other !
Drazic is still depressed and lonely , and Thania wants to chear him up by bringing him a litle piggy at the warehouse . Draz first thinks it's a dirty animal , but later , when he's left alone with it , he gives the pig a name , and he finds out it's a cool pet after all ! He even brings the pig with him to school , but Carson tells him to get rid of it .
Meanwhile Marco is having problems setting up a proper soccer team for the school , and he still needs a trainer . Then he finds out a famous soccer legend from Italy , Roberto , is training a local team , and he wants to ask him if he isn't interested for the job . But Roberto tells him he hasn't got time and he isn't interested at all .
Also , Angie , the girl Marco went out with , thinks he's so cute when he talks Italian and tells her
about his Italian roots . What she doesn't know however , is that Marco only pretended that he's Italian , and that he never really had visited Italy in the past . When she later finds out he was born in Sydney , and all the Italian stories were based on lies , she dumps Marco again .
And love isn't working anymore between Dennis and Sophie . She tells him he's always perving at other girls , and she wants to break up with him . But Dennis explains her she's just fine .Sophie doesn't believe that and she stops eating to put off weight . Then she faints in class , and Dennis and Jackie have to help her up again . They tell the girl she'd better start eating again , and there are other ways to loose weight . So Sophie asks Dennis if he would like to train with her , and spend some more time with her, but Dennis has to admit that their relationship isn't working anymore , so they decide to break up after all .
EPISODE 194
(February 23rd , '99 on NED3)
After winning the competition , Gem is invited to record the song at "Ice Records" . Zac is going with her , and she's doing just fine , till Lee arrives . Zac's able to send him away for a while , so the recording ends up very good after all . When Lee returns at the studio , he finds out Zac & Gem are really an item now , and back home he kicks Zac out of the house .
Marco gets rid of his old clothes and puts them in a container , where wanderers meet to pick up the used clothes . The next day he finds out Drazic is wearing a jacket that looks just like his old one that he gave away the day before. But Draz pretends he had bought the jacket in a store . Later Marco sees a wanderer with the same socks as Draz at Shark Pool , so he now knows that Draz was lying and that Drazic traded his socks for the jacket . Draz admits he's very low on money right now , and that this is the only option to get some new clothes . Then Marco arrives at the warehouse with a box full of used Italian clothes , and Draz can have them all if Marco gets some of Draz'clothes .
A new student arrives at Hartley , Petra . She has a handicap however , she's deaf , and Dennis and his mates give her a hard time . But later in class , the students find out she is really a teacher , and she was only acting as a student before , only to show them how they disrespect students with a handicap .
Thania thinks she has a point and later Petra invites Thania for a drink together with some of Petra's girlfriends . They are also deaf , and Thania has problems in following their conversations , because they only speak gesture-language . Petra visits Thania at the Shark Pool later on , and she tells her she's sorry for ignoring her next to her girlfriends , but Thania has no hard feelings about it and tells Petra it was a great lesson for her to see how it feels to be threated as a different person .
EPISODE 195
(February 24th , '99 on NED3)
Clare Gable , an exchange student from London , arrives at the Delaines'house . Jill and Lee first think it's a mistake , but then Jill remembers that Nat organised the whole thing a while ago .
She speaks with a terrible accent , and she seems to be a very arrogant girl . At school , she makes herself look like an idiot by first accusing Gem of stealing her ballet clothes , and then finding out that she had put them in the wrong locker ! At night , she comes into Lee's room and starts kissing him in bed . Lee is astonished and tells her now it's not the right time , which Clare understands . The next day , Clare shows the whole school what a great dancer she is by doing some moves on the roof . The students start to like her and decide not to give her a hard time anymore .
Meanwhile Zac moved in at the warehouse , but he's as broke as Drazic . Thania doesn't want to pay the whole rent herself , so she suggests the boys to look fort a job . Zac and Draz find a job ,
where they have to collect money to protect the endangered koalas , dressed as koalas themselves . They can keep a part of the money , and after raising enough for the rent , they're able to pay Thania their share of the rent .
Jackie is assigned to be the new softball coach , but she doesn't have a clue how to play the game . Marco hears about it and decides to help her , if he gets some more time to do his science work in exchange. Jackie agrees and Marco explains her all the basics about softball . And Jackie has kept her word also and gives Marco some extra time to do his assignments ; she even gives him some extra tutoring in science after school . So those two start spending a lot of time together lately and especially Marco likes Jackie's company a lot ....... will it be the next teacher-student relationship in Hartley history ? Who knows ?
EPISODE 196
(February 25th , '99 on NED3)
Marcs'interest for his attractive teacher Jackie keeps growing and he starts following her everywhere and asking questions about her private life . Jackie then asks Thania if Marc has girlfriend , after which Thania believes that Jackie feels something for Marc . When Thania tells Marc about it , he's so glad Jackie seems to love him too , and he goes to visit her at home !
But Jackie tells him to take a hike and stop harrassing her ; she also tells Carson about it ,
and Carson warns Marc that he'd better stay away from Jackie or he could be expelled .
Now Marc knows that Jackie doesn't want him , and he stops thinking about her .
Because Draz had a lot of comments on Gem's singing , she's not feeling happy about her voice and she wants to take singing lessons at school .
But during those lessons , she has to force her voice in such a way that when she sings her song again , it's even worse . But Gem admits to Zac that she prefers developing her voice a bit before doing any other recording , so Zaccy boy will have to find a new singer !
Jill is dating her boss , Warwick . Lee hates him a lot , because of his arrogance and stupid jokes , but Clare kinda likes him and thinks he suits Jill .
But when Lee finds out that Warwick lets him drive a luxury car of his choice each day , Lee starts being nice to Warwick and is happy that his mother is dating a rich man . He also asks Warwick about how serious he takes the relationship with his mother , and Warwick has to tell him that they haven't slept together if that was what he was wondering after .
But if everything works out fine , Lee can start calling Warwick "dad" after all !
EPISODE 197
(February 26th , '99 on NED3)
Jill is still going out with her boss . However , after a while she's always acting very weird and she stops mentioning Warwick . Lee finds out she got fired , because she broke up with Warwick .
Lee is furious and goes to see Warwick at work . He however tells Lee that his mother wasn't selling enough cars lately , and that was the real reason she had to quit .
So now Jill will have to find her a new job .
Meanwhile in science class , Jackie is teaching the seniors about the dangers of drugs .
The students are questioning her about the subject and she sort of admits the students that she tried drugs herself in the past ; the truth is she has never used drugs , but she didn't want to look like a incompetent teacher who knows nothing about it .
The next day , Jackie finds a "joint" on her desk , that's what's she thinks it is anyway .
She knows one of the students did it , and she suspects Marc , because she kinda "dumped" him .
Then she tells Carson about it and they inform the cops . The police officer comes into the classroom and he starts investigating the "joint" . It turns out to be normal sugar , and he tells Jackie that the police has better work to do than spending their time with jokes .
Jackie is embarrassed and she wants to expell Marc for making her look like a fool . But then Thania admits that she did it , only to check Jackie about her real knowledge about drugs .
Carson wants to update the student files , and every student has to fill in a form with some private details in it . Dennis and Gem don't like that and they want revenge ; so they're going to make a private file on Carson and place it on the school walls . They follow Carson to his house , and there they see him embrasing a young man , so they conclude he's gay !
They make note of it in the file and after they placed it at school somewhat later , all students make fun of Carson . Carson is furious and he suspects Dennis & Gem . He has a little chat with Dennis and he tells him that the young man he saw him with yesterday was his only son !
In dance class , Clare gets a visit from Zac . Clare likes Zac a lot and she visits him the day after .
Zac makes her clear that he's still together with Gem , but because Gem's avoiding him lately , he
gets second thoughts about it and he goes to see Clare again .
And after Clare finished her dancing , she and Zac start kissing each other !
EPISODE 198
(March 1st , '99 on NED3)
Thania and Marc have to do a history assigment together : they have to look up two ex-students that scored the best history marks ever , and ask them how useful the history lessons have been to them . The first student , Beatrice , is easy to find : she's now teaching history at the university . The second one , Andrew , is harder to find , but finaly they find him and he tells Marc that he had a relationship with Beatrice in the past .
So Thania decides to bring back the old lovebrids together , and Beatrice and Andrew are very happy to see each other again . Marc & Thania get an A+ for their assigment , and what's more , the two students seem to have a growing interest for each other !
There's a free occupation for secretary at Hartley Heights , and Lee tells his mum about it .
Jill applies for the job and gets it . Carson is very pleased about her work , and he likes Jill a lot .
Lee is interested in a certain girl , but she doesn't want to talk to him . Jill doesn't want to see her son in a sad mood , so she tells the girl that Lee is a terrific guitar player , after which the girl asks Lee to play a song for her !
Meanwhile Clare and Zac are still on together and Gem isn't happy about it . Carson tells Gem and Clare there's an audition at school to win a sholarship for the drama academy in Canberra .
Zac doesn't want Clare to leave , and he tells it to Gem . Gem sees the opportunity to get rid of Clare , so Gem drops out of the audition on purpose , so Clare wins the sholarship and leaves school . At Shark Pool , Zac is still thinking about Clare , but Gem reminds him that she's there for him now , and she wants another try with him .

CHARACTERS LEAVE : LEE & JILL DELAINE
Marc has bought a nice bracelet for Thania . Thania thanks him and she tells Marc that she's busy doing a psychology test , so maybe he's interested in participating . Marc wants to , but only if Thania participates herself . Thania compares their results and according to the test , Marc and Thania don't have much chance in a good relationship together .
Therefore Thania wants to brake up with Marc , but when Gem finds out she reccons that it would be the most stupid thing to do , because of such an unimportant test .
Lee is very depressed lately and hates to go to school . He feels like his mates are avoiding him and after Jackie is picking on him for not doing his science work properly , he looses it and climbs up the roof . He starts throwing down his notes , and he shouts out how he hates the school and everybody . Jill is able to calm him down , but she tells him she's not fitting in neither and she suggests they both leave Hartley Heights and look for another school .
It's been a year now that Draz was judged together with Anita for their shoplifting .Draz gets a visit from his court representative , who brings him the good news that his probation period is over in a couple of days now , but warns him he'd better not to anything stupid these last days .
Thania & Zac want to give a party to celebrate Draz'freedom . They haven't got a lot of money to set up the party , but Draz tells them he'll find something cheap . Drazic's able to buy the left-overs from the school canteen , and he can use the barbecue too .
Zac then finds out the goods may be stolen but he doesn't tell Draz because he would freak out .
During the party , a police officer takes a look around and Drazic tells him everything is fine , only the sausages may be a bit out of date . Luckily the cop doesn't ask any further question and at midnight , Drazic is a free man !
At the end of the party , Lee comes to say goodbye to his friends , and they all party all night long !

(March 4th , '99 on NED3)
NEW CHARACTER : TESS
A new girl arrives at Hartley , Tess . She's "gothic" and always dressed in a black outfit . Everybody calls her a witch , but she seems to be used to that . Until Dennis becomes such a troublesome fellow that she puts a curse on him . The next day , Dennis has got eruption on his skin , and he blames Tess for it . Carson thinks the students are overreacting and he organises a medieval lawsuit where Tess is the suspect of witchcraft . And at the end of the trial , the final sentence is that Tess is only dressing up and behaving a bit weird , but she's not a criminal !
Meanwhile Thania and Marc have a different opinion about soccer . Marc thinks it's a typical boys'game , but Thania disagrees . Because the two students keep argueing about it in class , Jackie decides to organise a little contest . Thania suggests a game of chess , but the game ends in a draw . Then they start shooting penalties , unfortunately this also ends in a tie . So Marc and Thania both have to admit that the sexes are equal , and they apologize to each other .
At the warehouse , Dragan , Drazic's father turns up to visit his son . Zac thinks he's all right , but Drazic seems to have big problems talking to his dad . Zac however tries to persuade Draz for at least listening to his dad , and after Dragan returns Drazic a small toy from the time when he was just a kid , Draz goes to see his father . Dragan tells him that he's soon to be 50 and he wants to apologize to his son for all the trouble he caused in the past . Drazic is still angry that Dragan took away his childhood in the past , but he wants to forgive his dad by inviting him for a birthday dinner at the warehouse .
Dragan is so happy that he can talk to his son again , and he brings some old pictures with him ,
so Drazic can remember the time when he was little .
But at the end of the party , Dragan goes to the bathroom , finds a wallet , and takes all the money out of it , without telling anyone .
Draz's suspicions were true : his father is still a big alcoholic and in big financial trouble !
EPISODE 201
(March 8th , '99 on NED3)
Tim , Tess'father , wants his daughter to go out more often , but Tess doesn't feel like spending much time with the other students because she thinks they're all so different .Then Tim convinces her to do "Tai-Chi" , some relaxation exercises . Dennis also turns up , and Tess starts to like Dennis . Even in class , Dennis sticks up for Tess when somebody is bothering her .
Zac finaly meets a nice girl he's interested in . She's called Gina and she's Marc's little niece .
Zac asks her on a date , but when Marc finds out about it , he refuses Zac to take his niece out . He tells Zac it's because of a cultural (Italian) thing . At Shark Pool , Marc cathes Zac & Gina kissing each other and Marc hits Zac . Gina tells Thania about it , after which Thania tells Marc that their relationship will be over if he continues to come between Zac & Gina .
So Marc apologizes to Zac and he decides they all can go on a double date at Shark Pool .
At the warehouse , Zac finds out that his money has been stolen , and Draz suspects his father .
Drazic goes to look up his dad at his garage , and Dragan admits he had no other option than stealing , because he still ows some people a lot of money.
Drazic is so angry that he hits his dad and Dragan ends up in the hospital . There Draz finds out from a doctor that his father is suffering from cancer and he might die very soon .
Draz feels very bad about what he did to his father , and he wants to spend as much time as he can with him . He tells his dad that everything is forgiven , after which Dragan dies .
EPISODE 202
(March 9th , '99 on NED3)
After Dragan's cremation , Drazic meets Anita again . She regrets everything that has happened and she wants to be Draz'friend again . Drazic tries to ignore her at first but then he finds out this isn't so easy because he still loves her a lot . Draz keeps his fathers' urn at the warehouse , but Zac doesn't like the idea of having Dragan's ashes next to him when he's watching TV . Anita also thinks Draz will have to leave the past behind him and get rid of the urn . So Drazic decides to sprinkle the ashes into the sea , because his father loved fishing , and tell his father goodbye , for good . But at least Anita is now back with him , which means a lot to him of course !
Gem hates Tess because she's always drawing attention . Then Gem and Tess both get detention from Jackie , and they have to clean up the science room together . But Gem leaves the room as soon as Jackie left them alone , so Tess has to clean up the mess by herself .
The next day , Gem comes to school a bit earlier , and waits in the science class till Jackie arrives , pretending she did all the cleaning alone . Jackie is angry at Tess now , and she lets her do some extra experiments as a punishment . After Jackie left however , Tess replaces the bottle with water by one with acid in it . The day after , Tess tells Jackie she was scared to set up the science experiment herself , and Gem did it because she wanted to help her out . During class , the experiment is a complete failure of course , and ends with a spectacular blow ! Jackie knows from Tess that Gem did it , and sends her out to Carson's office . Revenge can be sweet sometimes......
Meanwhile there's a strike going on at Hartley Heights , after Thania found out about the government reducing the education budget . So Thania organises a strike at school , and invites the students to stay with her on the roof and stop going to their classes , till the minister wants to listen to them . They even stay up there all night , and later , the next morning , a TV team arrives at HH and starts filming the angry students . Now that they will be on the evening news , the minister has to listen to them and he sends his advisor to Hartley to sort it out . The advisor warns Carson that if he can't get his students back into their classes , he could be fired !
But instead of stopping the strike , more students join in , and in front of all the cameras , the advisor has to admit that the students have a point and the funding of the school can stay as it is .
EPISODE 203
(March 11th , '99 on NED3)
Drazic inherits his father's garage . Soon a house-agent comes along and offers him $100000 for it . Draz already thinks the money is in the pocket and he starts buying all sorts of expensive stuff . But later on , Draz finds out that his father still owed someone a lot of money .
The next day , he goes to see the house-agent again , to sell the garage and collect all the money in order to pay the debts . But then the house-agent tells him that today he would only give him $50000 for it , because there's no demand for it anymore .
Then his father's creditor visits Anita at the garage and warns her that Drazic'd better pay him the money fast , or she could be hurt . The day after , Draz finds out that the creditor and the house-agent are working together to rip him off , and in fact a payment of $500 each month is enough to cover the debts . So Draz starts repairing old cars and earns $500 with it , so he's able to pay the creditor and get rid of him after all !
At school , Carson teaches the seniors about WWII propaganda . The students think they are smart enough not to be influenced so easily by propaganda nowadays .
Therefore Carson wants to do an experiment with the students : he lets them believe that Thania , usually top of the class , is scoring very low marks lately . He also criticizes her during classes , and his experiment seems to be working : nobody wants her copies anymore , Dennis welcomes her in his "morons club" , etc... Later Carson reveils the truth about the experiment and how easily they all fell for it !
Tess wants to go to a concert of a rather heavy gothic band , and her dad , Tim , doesn't want her to go . Dennis , who likes Tess a lot , wants to have a chat with Tim and make sure she can go after all . Eventually Tim let's his daughter go on one condition , that Dennis goes with her and looks after her . Dennis and Tess agree and together they go queueing up for tickets . There Tess meets this guy , Heath , who's also into gothic stuff , and she asks him to go to the concert together , without Dennis knowing it . So the night of the concert , not only Dennis , but also Heath and a couple of his mates show up at Tess'home . During the concert , Dennis looses Tess in the crowd , and he knows that Tess did it on purpose , so she could be alone with Heath .
EPISODE 204
(March 15th , '99 on NED3)
Drazic is working pretty hard lately to get his father's garage back in business . It's not easy at all to combine his schoolwork with the garage , and Anita thinks he should slow down a bit .
One day , he finds a little boy sleeping in one of the trunks . Draz is so stressed out that he takes the boys'bag and tells him to get lost . Anita feels sorry for the boy and has a little chat with him . The kid tells her that he ran away from home because his father was always mad at him .
Nite wants to help him and buys him some food . She's also able to convince Draz to talk to the boy , which he eventually does . Drazic tells him about his dad and how he's sorry now for not being able to work things out , so the boy understands that he has to make up with his dad before it's too late . The boy goes back home , and Anita is very proud at Draz !
At school , Carson wants his seniors to do a play , "Cyrano The Bergerac" . Gem thinks herself useful for the main female part of "Roxanne" . Tess is interested too , and after Dennis wants to do the auditions too , she also gives it a shot . Dennis & Tess practice together at home , and after auditioning , they both get the main parts : Dennis as Cyrano & Tess as Roxanne . Zac gets the part of Christian , and Gem only gets a small role .
Meanwhile D'Espo's school canteen isn't running very well , and he finds out that he has got competition . A certain Mexican dude is giving away Taco's for free to the students .
Later D'Espo gets pretty scared when he finds out that the man is in fact the husband of a woman where D'Espo had a love affaire with some time ago , and he thinks the man wants to hurt him . The Mexican tells Marco that D'Espo has to meet him at noon in the Shark Pool , or bad things could happen to him . Marco thinks D'Espo should play the game too , and meet the Mexican dressed as a cowboy . And so , at 12h , the two "cowboys" meet at Shark Pool , carrying toy guns !
Then the Mexican explains D'Espo that he wants to make a Mexican take-away tent out of Shark Pool , and D'Espo is relieved that the man doesn't know about the affaire . Finaly D'Espo tells him that he's not interested , after which the Mexican leaves .
EPISODE 205
(March 16th , '99 on NED3)
A photographer is making some pictures of Draz & Marco during a game of basket .
He tells them they look allright , and he's looking for some new male models for his campaign .
D'Espo finds out about it and he tells Draz & Marco that modelling stuff is for girls .
But the two boys do show up at the modelling agency where the shoot is going to take place .
They hear from the photographer that only one guy can win and get the job for the campaign . Eventually , Marco gets the contract , even though Draz did a fine job too !
Thania thinks that D'Espos' canteen isn't very hygienic . He tells her that he doesn't care much , as long as the students don't complain about it . At noon , Anita gets really sick , and so do several other students later on .
Thania suspects the bad quality food of the canteen and warns Carson . Carson calls in some researchers from the Health Department , and they close up the canteen .
D'Espo knows it's his fault , but he desperately asks Thania that she wants to take the responsability for it ,and he is prepared to give her a raise for it .
So Thania explains she's the one who's responsible , but the man from the H.D. thinks there's more to it and D'Espo looses his licence for the canteen .
The school play is to be performed in a few days . Dennis enjoys rehearsing with Tess , because he still has a crush on her . Then he finds out that Zac and Tess practice together at her place .
Dennis tells Anita about his love for Tess , and she advices him that he'd better show his feelings .
Then the play is about to start , and Zac and Dennis are preparing themselves backstage .
Tess is missing , but after a while , Zac finds her locked up in the girlsroom . Gem did it , because she wanted to play the part of Roxanne herself . Tess is so happy that Zac found her in time , that she kisses him in front of Dennis . Dennis is really hurt , and during the play , he suddenly starts expressing his love for Tess in front of the public !
Finaly , after the play , Tess tells him that she will always be a good friend to him , but no lover .
EPISODE 206
(March 18th , '99 on NED3)
Nobody has done his homework . Draz tells Carson that there was something very interesting on TV , so he didn't had any time left to do his work . Carson regrets the fact that everybody is addicted to television . Draz and Dennis don't think they are "addicted" to TV , they can do without . Anita bets they can't , and together with Draz & Dennis she bets for $20 that they can't do without watching TV from now on . It appears to be very hard : Anita is busted first after Dennis & Draz caught her watching a soap in the media room . Then Dennis goes to a public bar to watch the latest cricket game , without Draz knowing it .
Drazic himself was just following the latest sports on the telly when Dennis arrived at the warehouse . So finaly they all have to admit that they can't really do without TV .
Tess'father starts a new job as a programmer for Chip Harvey , a famous computergame producer . He is very wealthy , and he invites Tess to visit him after school .
Zac is a big fan of Chip's newest game , and he would like to get the cheats for it , so he joins Tess as she goes to Chip's place . Chip doesn't like that at all , because he's interested in her , and he asks Tess to come back tomorrow , alone , to do some modelling for his new game . So the next day , Tess goes to Chip by herself , where she is asked to model for a new game character . But Chip wants more of course , and soon he is making moves on Tess . Tess is able to keep him away and she leaves .
But Chip comes back at her place and makes her clear that she'd better not tell her dad about it , or he will loose his job for sure . Then Zac comes along , and Tess starts to cry , after which she tells the truth to her dad . He tells his daughter that she did the right thing , and no matter what , Chip will pay for this . So Tim arrives at Chip's place , telling him he quits his job , and finaly throwing Chip into the swimming pool .
Gem wants to date this guy , but he isn't interested . But because she doesn't want to look stupid
to her friends , she tells Marc & Thania that an old boyfriend of hers is back , and that she received flowers from him that day . Later , Thania asks Gem when she will introduce this friend to them , after which Gem fakes a telephone call with her friend to ask him to come to the Shark Pool . Marco finds out the phone isn't really working , and he tells her what a pathetic person she is !
EPISODE 207
(March 22nd , '99 on NED3)
Gem found out about Marco's feelings for Jackie , after reading in his diary .
She starts spreading a rumour that Jackie has an affair with one of the students .
Thania had no idea that her boyfriend used to have feelings for the science teacher , so she doesn't pay any attention to it , till Gem suggests that Marco may be the one .
Thania wants to know for sure and reads Marco's diary , where she also finds the evidence that Gem may be right . Thania gets angry with Marco for never telling her about this , and she breaks up with him , because she can't thrust him anymore .
Zac asks Draz where he would take his girlfriend , if it should be something cheap , but romantic .
Draz suggests that a boat trip in the harbour would be fine . So Zac takes Tess out for a boat trip , which she finds very kind of him . But during the trip , three guys start making trouble and try to make a fool out of Zac in front of his girlfriend . Zac is humiliated , and therefore he doesn't want to see Tess for a while . Draz tells Zac that it was a stupid thing to do , not to fight back , and that chicks like it that their boyfriend protects them . So Zac starts training real hard to keep fit , and he's acting very agressive at sports . Later , he asks Tess out for a second boat trip . During that trip , Zac is waiting for one of the guys from before to come along , and when he finaly sees him , he tells Tess he has got to settle something , after which he starts beating up the guy . But after they left the boat , Tess tells Zac that she hates him when he's acting like that , and he'd better stop acting like a macho .
Meanwhile , at school , Anita is trying to sell her self designed T-shirts . Dennis is modelling them , but they don't sell at all . Then Denny boy comes up with the idea of letting the students choose their own text to put on the front . The students like that idea and everybody wants a T-shirt with an offending text on it . Carson doesn't like seeing his students walk around like that , and he's considering to bring back the old school uniform tradition !
The students launch a big protest against that idea , e.g. the boys sit in class without their T-shirts on , and Dennis even runs around the school completely naked !
So eventually ,Carson decides not to bring back the uniforms , as long as the students stop wearing the "offending" T-shirts .
EPISODE 208
(March 23rd , '99 on NED3)
CHARACTER LEAVES : GEM
Tim asks Dennis to go wallclimbing with him . Dennis , who still wants to impress Tess , trains as hard as he can . Zac doesn't like Dennis still being around at Tess'house all the time , and Tess also wants to spend more time alone with Zac . Zac thinks he's a far better wallclimber than Dennis and challenges him . Dennis wins , but only because Tim asked Zac to let him win , otherwise Dennis would be humiliated again .
Later , Tim makes it clear to Dennis that he isn't wanted at Tess'house all the time , because it makes her feel uncomfortable .
Now that Marco is free again , Gem is showing a big interest in him . She ends up with him alone in the storeroom , after he had helped her carrying a box . There Gem starts kissing Marco , who pushes her away as soon as he realizes what's going on . Gem however , goes to see Jackie and tells her that Marco tried to rape her ! Carson calls in the cops and they interrogate both Gem and Marco . Luckily for Marco , Thania was in the computer room next door , during the time Gem and him were alone in the storeroom , and Thania didn't hear any screaming at all . So after Gem had told the cops that she must have screamed for a minute , Carson knows that she is lying .
Carson expells Gem from school , and Thania apologizes to Marco for not thrusting him .
Draz is working really hard at the garage , there's plenty of work . Louie , Draz'money-maker , thinks he can give Drazic some more jobs . Draz agrees , and Louie wants Draz to put some new
parts in his car . The next day , the police arrives for a routine investigation for stolen car parts , after they had been tipped off. Draz is surprised to see Todd again , who is now an investigator .
Todd finds a few stolen parts , and Draz gets arrested , because he doesn't want to cooperate and tell them the name of the owner of the car .
EPISODE 209
(March 25th , '99 on NED3)
In science class , the students have a discussion with Jackie whether ghosts exist or not .
Especially Tess is convinced they do , and she invites the others for a seance at her place .
Zac doesn't want to come at first , because it would remember him too much at his mother , who died 10 years ago , but eventually he does come. During the seance , Tess and the others are trying to call a ghost , and it seems to work : the glass is moving , indicating that the ghost is ready to answer their questions .It seems to be Zac's mother , because the ghost is always referring to "Pookie" , the name that his mother used to call him when he was a kid . Zac is really upset and leaves . The next day , Zac tells Tess that maybe he was wrong in her , and maybe he doesn't know her that well . Their relationship can't go on if she keeps hiding her real identity behind her "black gothic mask" . Tess also finds out that Dennis had faked the seance all the time ; he was the one who was pushing the glass , not some ghost ! Tess thinks about what Zac told her , and decides to change her image , and forget about the gothic stuff .
At school , Carson is playing lawnbowl on the roof , and Marco asks him if he can try it too . Marco seems to do very well , and Carson asks him to be his partner at the school lawnbowl championchips .Marco agrees , and later on they enter the competition . The Hartley Team wins , because Carson had taken a risky but excellent final shot !
Meanwhile Drazic is still being interrogated by the police , but he doesn't want to give them any more information . Anita has to bail him out , and runs into Todd again . Todd tells her that he still loves her , but she explains him that she's back with Drazic now. If he wants to help her however , he can persuade Draz to tell the cops the truth . Todd tries to reason with Draz , but Draz tells Todd to take a hike . The day after , Louie visits Draz at the garage , and gives him some money for keeping his mouth shut to the cops . Later , Anita tells Draz that if she still means a lot to him ,
he'd better talk to the cops , because she doesn't want to see him behind the bars .
Drazic thinks about it , and decides to give his girlfriend what she wants . Louie gets arrested , and Draz is a free man . Drazic tells Anita that now that they have gone through a lot ,
the time has come that they go live together . He also asks Nite to marry him , but she first needs some time to think about it . Finaly , Draz arrives at Hartley Heights in his car , with the sirens on .
All the students come out their classes , and Drazic calls Anita . Anita tells him she would be glad to marry him , and Drazic is so happy he invites the whole school for a big party !
Carson wishes them all the luck , and so , Drazic and Anita start a hopefully long and happy life together ! Congratulations !!!
