Brian Haydn Robinson

After playing with Black Dyke Mills Junior Band, Brian Robinson joined the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain. He studied at the Royal College of Music before joining the band of H.M. Irish Guards. He has also been a trumpet Player in Dance bands and Orchestras.

He has been, and still is, an inspiration to hundreds of young brass musicians through his work as a peripatetic music teacher, and of course, through Junior Band. He formed the band, taught most of the children to play and is still musical director, even after 29 years.

Brian retired from the band in 2002, with his last official engagement being the Christmas eve caroling in the square in Hebden Bridge.
