• A request for funding by Michelle Perrault for the Catholic Christian Outreach Program was    approved. The recommendation was made by the Legacy Committee to support Michelle's   request. This support reinforces efforts by Holy Cross Parish to encourage our youth to more   actively participate their Catholic faith. Michelle now works full time for the Catholic Christian Outreach Program at the University of Sask. This will be funded out of the Social Action           allocation set aside in the Legacy Fund.
  • A funding request regarding the Cuernavaca, Mexico project will be further revisited with the potential for supporting Holy Cross Parish youth involved in the project. A recommendation will be put forth by the Legacy Committee.
  • The Stations of the Cross according to the   Museum experts, will not cost as much to repair as originally thought. We will advise parishioners of the status of the repairs as they unfold.
  • Discussion was held on "How are we a Parish of Inclusion?" One of our parish objectives for

2004 will be to reach out to those who feel alienated by the Church without compromising the rules and principles of the Catholic faith.  Often it is misunderstanding that keeps people away.  Education of those who attend church regularly is very important so they can invite and encourage other to "come home" to the church.  The issue was tabled until the January  meeting to allow time for further   reflection by council members.

  • Cheri MacFarlane asked for feedback or    direction on the monthly article she submits to the  Parish Bulletin on the lives of the saints. It was suggested that some of the  better known saints as well as others recently canonized by Pope John Paul II be considered.
