Blessing of Expectant Parents
On the 4th Sunday of Advent, the Liturgy celebrates Mary's visit to Elizabeth and the joy they find in a God, faithful to a promise made long ago being fulfilled in their lives. Their time of waiting is one of blessing. A special blessing for expectant mothers and fathers will be given at all Masses on Dec. 20/21, the 4th Sunday of Advent. Those awaiting the birth of their child will be invited to stand, if they wish, for this blessing.
