You did not indicate if you were exercising. Dieting without exercising is like eating without drinking.
They go together and enhance each other.

Rice of itself is not a bad thing. Quantity consumed and quality of preparation is the key. The American
food guide for amount of food eaten each day suggest that 55% of your daily food come from the
carbohydrate group. Rice and bread are carbohydrates so up to 1/2 of what you eat each day can come
from carbohydrates. If possible, include other carbohydrates other than just bread and rice - for
example, pasta, potatoes, corn and so on.

Boiled eggs are a GREAT source of protein. Have them without fear. The body building industry
encourages the eating of several eggs per day, however, to avoid getting too much cholesterol, they
take out the yolk, the yellow part out of some of the eggs they eat and offer it to the children who need
it more.

Calories are like gas for your car. You must have calories to have energy to move around and to live.
HOwever, like gas, there is good quality gas, and bad quality gas. Bad gas will make your car go, but it
eventually can ruin the engine and cause poorer function, while good quality gas makes a car perform at
its best.

Same with our food. If you make poor food choices, you will get calories, but not much nutrition. For
example, eating a baked or boiled potato is BETTER that eating a fried potato. Both give calories, but
one also clogs the blood flow in the body and lead to later health problems. Eating a boiled egg is better
than eating a fried egg.
|
|
So basically, all foods have calories and nutritional value. Some foods have less calories than others,
so you can eat MORE of those foods and not get fat. Some foods even if they have the same total
calories, may not offer good quality nutrition in terms of vitamins, and so on.

|
If you are not exercising, please do so. And if you are, wonderful.
|
|
All the best in health and fitness.
