Vaccination Requirements





1) According to the government edict nr. 184, of March 8th 1999, a yellow fever vaccination certificate is mandatory at the port of entry in Brazil, if the traveler has visited, within the last 90 days, any of the following countries:

In Africa: Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo (ex-Zaire), Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Republic of Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone or Sudan.

In South America: Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guyana, Peru or Venezuela.

2) Yellow fever vaccination is advisable if the travelers’ destination in Brazil includes any of the following States: Acre, Amapá, Amazonas, Distrito Federal (Brasília), Goiás, Maranhão, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Pará, Rondônia, Roraima or Tocantins.

3) A polio vaccination certificate is mandatory at the port of entry in Brazil for children between the ages of 3 months and 6 years.
