We would like to express our appreciation for your playing our game. We hope it brings you a good measure of fun and only wish that everyone could win. The game is a hypothetical premise, and we feel the need to explain that no real treasure is hidden at the destination. However, there is a treasure to be won if you are the first player to work through the clues and send in your solution as to the route and destination of Mr. Lister. |
In the recent past, Hadon Lister (a wealthy man living in Los Angeles) was told by his doctor that he had approximately two years to live. Mr. Lister had been raised an orphan, so he knew of no family from his parents. He had devoted his life to his work and had not married, so had no children. It seemed now that he knew time was running out, the only problem he had was to find someone to whom he could leave his fortune. After several nights spent without sleep and walking the streets, he found his answer. |
The next morning, Mr. Lister sold his homes and real estate, his cars and boats, and cashed in all his stocks and bonds. This turned out to be a lot of money to carry around. He then went back to the bank and bought a cashier's check made out to the "bearer" (that is, anyone who took possession of the check could cash it for it's full value). Hadon Lister then put the check in the pocket of an old coat he had found in the trash and became a hobo. He traveled throughout the United States until his death. As a hobo, he walked, hitched rides on trains, cars, and boats, and traveled any other way he could without spending any money. He could not fly or ride a bus, as to do this he would need to buy a ticket. |
Your task is to decipher the clues given within the game. Being sure to give proper evaluation to each and every clue you can find, you must establish the route Mr. Lister took in his travel. The last place visited is the destination, and this is where the "cashier's check" awaits anyone who can be the first to claim it. Once you are satisfied that your solutions are the correct ones, list them in order along with the clue number on the entry form, and mail to: |
The earliest postmarked entry with the right solution wins. In the event of a tie, all parties will be contacted and the prize will be divided. We have made no mention as to the size or value of the prize. The number of game players involved will determine the size of the prize. A set portion of the registration fee paid by those who play will be placed into an account as the prize for the winner(s). As we expect a large response to this game, a large prize would not be unusual. At only $1 per player and if 1,000,000 players participate, $1,000,000 would be awarded to the winner(s). |

There are no plans at present to set a time limit or deadline on this game. We will, however, make every effort to be sure that anyone interested in this game will know when the prize has been won. Many people may try to interpret this game as some sort of lottery or scam, if this is your opinion - DON'T PLAY. If you are of this opinion, and want to be sure there is a solution, you can view the answers for a fee of $100,000 and a "release from eligibility" form must be signed by you and everyone you know. This is a game of skill, and everyone who can read has an equal chance to win; it is truly a test of skill and cunning. |
Whatever your future may hold, we hope it will be happy and prosperous. |
