17. The Choice

Back in my room again, I turn on the TV. I've missed the first 50 minutes of 'A Better Tomorrow Afternoon', but it's plain to see that Alex has gotten himself into a difficult situation.

"Oh no!" cries Susan, "he's got Alex."

"Quick, let's run!" cries Mark, "before he gets us!"

"But we can't leave Alex behind," cries Susan, "can we?"

"Do we have any choice?" says Karen.

"Be sure to tune in tomorrow, folks, to find out whether or not Alex will be abandoned by his new friends from The Institute of Scientific Compassion . . .
