This is what I call my nursery.
This is a beginning place to share what I am doing with my babies. Here I am a mother of 5 grown children and grandmother of 7, and I am making babies. Only this time, they are an expression in art form. I have looked and researched different reborn baby sites and there are some wonderful, very talented people out there. I wanted one of these baby dolls and personally I thought, gee they cost so much!   Well, I began my own process of learning the art. Since I have always had an artistic talent, this became a new challenge to me. The hard part is now I want to keep them all. However there's only so much room in one's house and my husband said why don't you try selling some of your reborns. So, this is yet a new beginning for me.

I have never liked selling anything to anyone, I always felt guilty about asking for money. I know how hard it is to make it and keep it. I raised 4 of those 5 children as a single mom and it was definately an uphill climb. Anyway, I just want to say too,I have learned that making these babies is fun, I love it, but it also is work. After learning some of this the hard way and going to bed with bleeding fingers and hands, I understand more about the cost of making them.

Now, with everything I have stated in mind, I make this final statement. I would never turn loose of one of these baby dolls if I would not buy it myself. I am a perfectionist and I want to give a 100% on whatever I do. However, remember this is also an art form and not everything I like will you like. I have seen some beautiful babies born and I have seen some babies born that became beautiful over a few days. I like realism to an extent. I will make all of my reborns beautiful. Truthfully, I would not buy an ugly doll just because it looked very realistic. This is my opinion and perhaps it's not yours.

I will not put down other reborn artists or declare that my way is the best way. What I tell you is that I do my reborning, my way with what I like to use and if I try something different and like it better, well, I might change my mind. The end result is what I am going after and to be a blessing to someone else.

I use Berenguer dolls mostly for my reborning. I have used Zapf and a Lee Middleton just to see the difference in working with them and how they look. My preference still remains with Berenguer at this time. I love their expressive faces and they are wonderful to work with.
