Stress

WHAT IS STRESS?

Let's talk briefly about stress.

If you search the Internet for information on this subject just using the word 'stress', you will find that people have a great deal to say about it!

Whilst the word 'stress' may be interpreted in different ways – depending on your discipline and thought process – the term 'stress' has one universal interpretation, that of:

I) an unpleasant experience

II) an ongoing process

III) an emotional response causing physical signs and symptoms. It is important to realize that when someone (such as a doctor or a Health Measures practitioner) talks about stress, what is meant is a factor in your life that may be that 'extra stimulus' to tip the balance of health from a symptomatic – showing no symptoms – to symptomatic – where a health situation causes complaint. Often signs and symptoms occur together, but not invariably so: you may complain of a terrible feeling of itching on you skin – your symptom is itchy skin, but there's nothing to see, so the visible signs may only include an area of redness where you have been scratching.

Going back to that cube, it may be stress that causes just one little cube to shift alignment, causing such instability in the larger cube. Our bodies are much the same as most living things (from greenfly to giraffe, from warthog to whippet) in that, of the many noxious stimuli we face each day, it may take only one more to tip the balance from having no symptoms to developing symptoms. Hence, reactions of the body are influenced by the mind. Conversely, reactions of the mind are influenced by the body – Health Measures attends to the whole individual. At Health Measures , our directive is to allow the individual to take control of their health. We not only attend to relief of symptoms, using natural products whenever possible, but also attend in depth to origins, with investigation of lifestyle and your psychology. Your physical health, your lifestyle, your psychology, the way you deal with stress… all of these make up you. Our previous training and experience, together with our current research, has taught us that individuals often have a collection of simultaneous conditions and these have effects on coexistent complaints. It is both resolution of the problem and understanding of the process behind it that is conducive towards a cure. Understanding gives powerful protection. 'The Return Factor' means that, because pathology process is permanently interrupted, inflammations persist.
