Led by the Spirit of God
"For if you live after the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you put
to death the deeds of the body, you shall live.
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God."
Romans 8:13-14
The Spirit is given to lead us to do the Father's will.
We may have other plans when these opportunities occur.
If we forget ourselves, and obey as the Spirit prompts, we will serve as Jesus; if we persist in our will, we will quench the Spirit.
We have all been self-willed. Our failures do not dictate our future.
Thru the repeated surrender of our will, and the confession of our sin,
the Spirit restores our spirit with the assurance that we are forgiven again.
Time and again we see and feel: Jesus is inseparably Savior and Lord.
"For the mind of the flesh is death; but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace." The mind of the flesh is not subject to the law of God.
It is its own lord. The difference in submission is destiny.
Life and peace are now reality - because of Jesus' death upon the cross.
Jesus' death released the power of his endless life -
to conquer our will, and dismiss our sin.
The Spirit leads us to repeatedly know Jesus - Savior and Lord.
The succession of surrenders glorifies the Father,
as a chorus of Halleujahs.
The life freely given to us, we now release to the Giver.
Hearts that are home for the Spirit, rejoice in this over and over again.
"He leadeth me, O blessed thought..."
Jesus died the Death, to send us the Spirit, to lead us to God.
How great is the loss, to refuse His leading, into the Father's will.
"Nevertheless I tell you the truth: it is expedient for you that I go away;
for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you;
but if I go, I will send him unto you." John 16:7
