soap couples that fizzled, GM's big year

Once upon a time when GQ debuted on GH in 2003, Lindze and Scott were the bomb...everyone was talkin about them, they amassed their fanbases.  I can't believe four yrs later, the soap let that couple fizzle into nothing.  When GQ finally hit the sheets, it was so unclimactic (haha) that nobody noticed their payoff.  I'm wondering if Lusty would have shared that same fate if Peyton stayed...that by Lusty's third yr, nobody would care if the story was not there?   Both actors' contracts expire this year, and it is a shame they didn't become bigger stars.  OR is it ? If an actors pinnacle is their daytime stint, then chances they won't make it in Hollywood (Shemar, Julianne Moore and Sarah Gellar notwithstanding).

Ok, I know I shouldn't rake GM, cuz I 'm hoping he is cultivating happiness OUTSIDE soaps...but anyone noticed that GM will never have a year like 2004???

-His acting school debuted, he got a cameo in Collateral, got to do his only movie E5, his character was finally launched with Lusty, got to do FIVE magazine covers, unheard of for ATWT actor, did THREE cointerviews, did two chats that crashed cuz hundreds of folks were entering it, did soooo many magazine shoots, was the BELLE of the ball, really,

"men wanted to be him, women wanted to do him"  tamara tunie, sarah brown, mfundo morrison, amy locane, peyton list, scott holmes all had huge words for him.
