Around 1774, while brother John stayed at Fulks Run, Virginia, Adam went with his dad Matthew and tried unsuccessfully to stop the "Battle of Point Pleasant" (an Indian uprising instigated by the French). Matthew and son Adam never came back to "Fulks Run," and it is believed that Adam settled in Kentucky and had at least two sons---Obadiah and John.
