In the mid 1700's a couple of Scandinavian brothers named Ludwig and Matthew Fulk came to America by way of Germany and settled on "Fulks Run," a place on the German River in Rockingham County, Virginia. This was around 1750. Matthew's brother Ludwig was killed by Indians.
