My Family and I love Them All

This story is a little long and may be slow loading please be patient!

Mom and Dad Receiving the picture of Mom and Dad is one of the nicest things anyone could have done for me. I really want to thank Dick and Dorothy Theis for their effort, expense and trouble. Words really cannot express my gratitude and thanks. My children for the first time in their lives can see a photo of my mother. Sure I talked about them a lot but a picture replaces a thousand words. Even Diane did not remember what Mom looked like.

I often told a story to the children about the little fuel pump in the glove box of the 1948 Chevrolet car. This fuel pump stayed in the glove box as long as we owned the car and then later transferred over to the new used car 1952 Chevrolet. As children, we would play with the fuel pump while traveling. I asked my dad "what and why" the fuel pump in the glove box. His story and as best, as I can remember goes something like this. While traveling over to Dick and Dorothy, the car failed to operate. Mom being the mechanically inclined one of the family removed and dismantled the fuel pump right on the spot to find out what the problem was. As I remember, she used a piece of her shoe to cut into the shape of a fuel pump diaphragm. As children, we were sitting in the back of the car wrapped up in a blanked to stay warm. The fuel pump worked until we could get back to town to get a replacement. The old repaired fuel pump with the shoe leather diaphragm was kept in the glove box as a back up. I really think it was kept there as a remembrance of what Mom did on that cool night in what I believe to be the fall of the year.

Diane is a classical guitarist and performer. The photo shows her in front of the church during the Christmas season. Diane plays for Sunday masses and many special occasions, funerals, weddings, confirmations, etc. Her love of music and her musical talents brings her recognition as an excellent classical guitarist and vocalist. Diane has performed in many churches.

Last fall Diane traveled again to Croatia with medical supplies for the hospitals for humanitarian relief and heading especially to Medjugorje, for a pilgrimage to the shrine of our Lady of Peace. While in Medjugorje Diane played music at the English Mass’s held in the local church. During the month of June in the shrine of the Queen of Peace in Medjugorje 143,000 Holy Communions were distributed and there were 3,504 concelebrations at Holy Mass by priests from home and abroad, that is 117 priests a day.

Diane
News Paper Diane also teaches guitar and piano in our home. The ages of the students are from 7 to Seventy although the majority is in the school age. The photo shows one of the guitar recitals that made the front page of the local newspaper. The photo of Jonathan our grandson and Diane playing a duet song from the Toy Story movie, (You have a friend in Me). During these recitals, the halls fill up with onlookers and the parents of the children. It is a fun day for them and something they will remember forever.

Big John
In these photo you see the rest of the musical family. Roxanne and Heather play the piano. And of course, Jonathan caught with his hand in the cookie jar plays the guitar. These kids are not shy, something I do not understand because I was always shy. The father is a little camera shy I think there is a photo around here somewhere though. John, Roxanne and children live just outside of town in a newly constructed home. John works at Malt-O-Meal as a Raw Ingredient Inventory Controller. Roxanne enjoys crafts manufacturing in her spare time. Heather has entered many beauty pageants and has been a model for children’s things. The activities they are in create a well-rounded individual with confidence and poise. Yet still allows them to be kids. Roxanne
Chris and Terry Terry and Christine live here in Northfield. Terry works in Saint Paul as a Technical instructor and advisor for Industrial computer installations and maintenance. Terry’s daughter Ashley in the photo on the right was taken while Ashley spent the day learning how to please Grandpa, cooking. Believe me the pie was good. Only problem with that was that daddy-helped finish off the tasty morsels. Ashley and Grandma spend a lot of time in the kitchen together. Ashley
Terry’s stepson Chad was in the refrigerator looking for something.

Chad has been in our family sense he was only a few months old. He is a barrel of fun and is full of antics to make everyone that knows him smile and laugh with joy.

Chad

Ashley and Chad along with their parents Terry and Chris spend time camping in the great outdoors. The children learn about nature, our environment and the values of a family together

Terry is remodeling there home in his spare time. Moving walls, installing windows and adding new siding. Whether it is woodworking, electrical no job to big or small for Terry. Terry and Chris are turning an average cold drafty house into a ‘story book’ house full of sugar and spice, warmth and love.

Tim ‘my oldest’ and Pauline live on the in-laws farm. Tim purchased the buildings and a small parcel of land from them when they sold out and moved to town. The farm lacking upkeep was, abused and neglected for many years. Tim’s job to make this a home was just starting. He had to replace the septic system, replace the present well with a pressure system, and rewire the buildings and house. Remove the falling down and leaning buildings and restore the ones worth salvaging. Tim has been at it for many years.

The farm is beginning to look like a farm again. One of his major expenses was redoing the house and adding a larger second story on to the existing stricture, replacing the roof and insulation of the older part of the house. In the meantime, he purchased machinery and snow removal equipment needed for a hobby farm operation.

This farm is the gathering place for my two youngest on weekends. They use the large pole shed for working on their antique and old cars and trucks. This is Chris's car and will soon be a bright blue. What do you think? There is something always going on at Tim’s house on weekends. Chris Car
Eric and Adam

Eric takes everything as a ‘matter of fact’ having fun when ever and wherever he can, enjoying life to the fullest.

Tim and Pauline have three children of their own and Pauline has one from previous. This makes three boys and the youngest is a girl. As you can imagine the girl is spoiled but then, she is only a year old.

AdamJust this last weekend Grandma Busch (Diane) took the boys to the city parks. Traveling from park to park the boys played and played. Upon leaving the last park, Adam fell asleep in the car. As Diane drove down to Tim’s farm Adam awoke up to see he was home. You want to talk about a child having a fit. No way did he want to he home. Not this day, he still wanted to have fun in the parks. As you can see, he could be a mischievous kid.

The photo I found for the oldest Kenny was not the greatest. But what the hay, it is better than nothing as I always said to make light of some of these circumstances.

I think you can see why Michelle is a little spoiled. Tim said she is so cute. Then I tell him what do you expect of a Busch.

Michelle
Chris Chris and Pete are the youngest of five. Chris just completed college at the University of Minnesota in Duluth He majored in computer science maintaining an "A" average. Chris is working for Member Services in Plymouth MN as a computer programmer & consultant of Internets. He comes home on weekends to work on his car. I am proud of his accomplishments.

Pete is about to enter college this fall. He is currently working for Polzin Glass company here in Northfield as a certified auto glass installer. Their many hobbies are reworking cars, but all of the kids had this at one point in their lives. It is just that Pete and Chris do not have girl friends so they have money to invest in the auto hot rods and such.

Pete
Corvette

I have good kids and I am proud of them.

Left is one of Pete’s cars a 1976 Corvette. Pete does not drive this car much, only on Sunday and special occasions like his dad going to work. No I have not driven it yet he will not let me.

The family pet, we call her Puddles. She is full of antics and plays all day with the grandkids and us. I just had to show you a photo of her

Now it is about time to tell you about Myron. I work at Malt-O-Meal here in Northfield as a boiler operator. Actually I take care of all the plant utilities and maintenance related to non-production items. Not a very glamorous job but it pays the bills. The job is quite challenging and can be rewarding. Tim and John, Roxanne’s husband also work at Malt-O-Meal. The pay is not that great but it does pay some of the bills.

My background has been in electronics. While Teledyne in Minneapolis closed the doors, I needed a job closer to home. I applied at Malt-O-Meal in the maintenance department. With an electronics background, I took up the hobby of computers. Not only repairing, but programming and just using one. As you can see, this letter is formatted using one of my hobbies. My hobby does work out quite well. Diane gives a music lesson in the other end of the house and I am in here. I do not think sawing, hammering, or making noise of any type as some of the other hobbies tend to make would fly around here.

I have been using the Internet for over 6 years. The vast information you can get on it is amazing. If you are familiar with the Internet, my email address is mbusch@charter.net. My web page is at http://www.oocities.org/heartland/1662. The computer I use is state of the art Micron P200-2. This is one of about ‘five or six’ that I have in operation. Diane uses a 486 for her music and schoolwork she does. Pete has a 386 for his schoolwork. Chris uses a P133. I have done some web page design for the Saint Paul Minneapolis Bulldog club and for BullDorn’s bulldogs. I also do graphic design and manipulation and belong to the HTML writer’s guild. I am an active member of ATIS on the Internet. That stands for Antique tractor Internet Service. A news group discusses problems, how-too, and other questions related to farm tractors and equipment. I offer what ever I can because of my farm background.

With a large family and grandkids, there is always something to do. Baby sit is one of them and I love every minute of it. Last summer I helped Roxanne electrically wire there new home. She was the electrician pulling the wire and putting in the fixtures. Everyday there is something to do.

I again want to thank you for the Photo’s It starts another conversation and its is a joy to remember.
