ODDS 'N ENDS

Okay, it's time to start this section. At first it'll be devoted to credits where I've used graphics, etc. Later I'll add more interesting sections on humor, etc.

First of all, many graphics come from the geocities files. Some school pictures were take on a digital camera and retouched at home, others I snatched from the school or district web pages and linked them back to those pages. Other logos from city, state and other organizations are linked back to the pages they came from. More to be added later...oh, and my photo was taken at Hal Massey studio in Provo, scanned in on John Brown's scanner, and re-touched by myself on Corel Photo House.

By the way, every effort has been made on all these pages to make sure all the links work and are current. I've tried to warn you about slow links, and where at all possible I've tried to find a page that bypasses plug-ins that not everyone may have yet (such as shockwave). Also, a similar effort has been made to link directly to pages of interest at sites that have frames so you can avoid being framed (again, where possible--see the Dave Barry site below).

About the Disclaimer:

Many of my pages include a Yahoo! Geocities Banner Exchange, which used to be more complete, and includes a link to another site or an ad. You may ask: "Why does he use the Banner Exchange (formerly GeoGuide), if he has to insert a disclaimer under each one?" I'll explain.
First of all--the concept of Yahoo! GeoCities is that anyone can have a permanent home page free of charge in a 'community' that reflects their interests. I like the idea, and know that someone has to pay for the webspace and resources that make it possible. I don't mind if it's advertisers who pay.
Second--Yahoo! GeoCities needs to pay for these services somehow (see the first reason) and if I don't put the GeoGuide on my page, they'll use a pop-up ad, which covers part of the page and is sometimes more annoying. I can't put a disclaimer on the pop-up ad.
Finally--I'd like no ads at all, and am working on a mirror site with my own domain name. In the meantime, we live in the real world (except for those of you who live exclusively in the cyber-world). Please press the back button on your browser now and you'll go back to my page that you were reading.

Links to great sites for a good clean laugh:
Good Clean Funnies List (GCFL) Here you can sign up to have a good, clean joke or two delived to you by e-mail every business day. Or browse their archives.
Dave Barry. A columnist for the Miami Herald (a family newspaper), Dave writes about the things guys do. If you've never read him, he could be considered the "Erma Bombeck" for guys.
p.s. You can go the Herald site and read Dave's page framed, or go to his archive directly and avoid the frames.
Calvin and Hobbes. Fans of the old comic strip can get a fix here by browsing old installments, arranged by date. If you're really hard-core, you can order framed versions for lotsa money, or something like that.
