OBITUARY: Newspaper Obituary - 1935

  George Joy, aged 79, died at his home on Hughes River, Wednesday, October 2nd, at 11:00 o'clock.  While his death is thought to have been caused by heart trouble, he has been in poor health for several weeks from dropsy.
 Mr. Joy was a citizen who was highly respected by those who knew him.
 He is survived by severall sons, daughters, and other relatives.  Floyd Joy of Route 2, Elizabeth is a son.
 The funeral was held in the home Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock with the Rev. J. M. Nutter officiating.  Interment in the Perrin Cemetery.  W. M. Pomroy, funeral director in charge.

BURIAL: George is interred at Perrin Cemetery.

George married 1 Ollia Josephine SHAHAN, daughter of James B. SHAHAN and Ellen KARNS, on 18 Nov 1880 in Ritchie Co., West Virginia. Ollia was born 2 18 Jul 1862 in Grafton, Taylor Co., West Virginia. She died 03 Apr 1962 in Marietta, Washington Co., Ohio and was buried in Belpre, Washington Co., Ohio.

BURIAL: Ollia is interred at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
