A portrait currently on view in the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, Hagerstown, Md. The portrait is part of the Face to Face Exhibition. The following was conveyed to me by the director, Ms. Jean Woods:

"The sitter was born in 1797 and was baptized at Zion Reformed Church in Hagerstown. He died at a fairly young age in 1836 and is buried in the Salem Reformed Church Cemetery, west of town. He was the great grandson of Peter Rench and on the Schnebly side, was the grandson of the Swiss immigrant Dr. Henry Schnebly and his wife, Elisabeth Schaefer, who came from Affoltern AM Albis, Canton, Zurich."
