Eighth Generation: J. Kenneth Rentch
1917-

J. Kenneth "Kenny" was born in Martinsburg, WV.. After graduating from high school, he attended Concord College, WV., and earned his teaching degree in 1939. Kenny served in the Navy during WWII aboard the Destroyer "Rodman" in the North Atlantic participating in the Normandy Invasion. He married Louise Taylor during his tour. After the war he began teaching at his alma mater in Martinsburg. A few later, Kenny and Louise moved to Shepherdstown, WV. where he taught science and coached three sports. He also owned a small convience store, in Shepherdstown, for a time. It was here that he became famous for his "Mexican Meet" sandwiches. Kenny also worked at the local horse race tracks and referred high school football and basketball for many years. When his sons began attending the high school, Kenny transferred South Hagerstown High School, Hagerstown, Md. He retired in 1986 and soon he and Louise moved to Florence, S.C. where he resides today. Lousie is buried in Rosedale Cemetery, Martinsburg, Berkeley Co., WV.
