Ninth Generation: John K. Rentch, Jr.
1944-

John was born in Martinsburg, WV., but grew up in Shepherdstown, WV. He attended the local high school and college where he earned a teaching degree in Biology in 1968. Moving to Annapolis, Md., he married Ruth Anna Palmer in 1973 and raised his three boys. John spend his entire teaching career in the Annapolis schools-most of it at Annapolis Senior High School. After 35 years in the classroom, he retired 2003. He also worked during the summers with Anchor Aquatics (swimming pool managment company) with two other local teachers- Joe Ruddle and Jim Morton. During this time John was involved with his community swimming pool-being treasurer for 10 years. John coached girls basketball for 4 years at Annapolis and when he sons were playing sports he became the president of the Sports Booster Club of Annapolis High for eight years. In 2003 John retired from teaching. He is splitting his time working/playing at a local golf course; and working on genealogy by helping to publish the quarterly Rench Roundup Report newletter. Ruth is employed by the Dept. of Transportation in Washington, DC.
