Third Generation: Daniel Rench
1769-1831

Daniel Rench, according to family records, twenty-three years of age when his father made his will [9/15/1792] and yet his father calls him underage. Jonas Hogmire, son-in-law and an older man is made executor with Daniel. Daniel, however, is recognized as head of the family and receives bequests equal to those of his older brother, Michael, who, it appears had moved to " Caintucka". Daniel was left the homestead, 937 pound and other plantations and entrusted with the welfare of his mother and told to see that she received all that was willed her as long as she remained a widow [Wash Co. Md. Prob. A:2:9]. In 1814, Daniel sold the plantation north of Hagerstown and moved to "Belleview" near Williamsport, Md., where he died. Daniel and both is wives are buried in Zion Reformed Church Cemetery, Hagerstown, Washington Co., MD.
