I found this site, and I really think it should be here. It kind of goes along with why dolls are so important, to our history and our heritage.

I had gone to a certain doll hospital, hoping to have a Deanna Durbin doll that I recently purchased repaired. I was disappointed at the price I was to be charged to do the restorative work, even though I told the owner I wanted her left as original as possible. I have decided to work on this doll myself. I will show the steps being taken, thanks to lots of helpful advice and some wonderful, sharing people on the internet..if I fail, it is my own doing, if I succeed, it is due to the wonderful help and advice from my "friends" on the net (yeah, especially you Don)

BUYING ADVICE-the advice that I give, and that I try to live by is to NEVER buy a doll as an investment only. Every time I bought a doll to sell, not because I loved her. I wasn't able to get rid of the thing. If you don't love it, don't buy it. You may end up living with the doll for a very long time otherwise.
