I recently became disabled and have had extra time to surf the net. I'm so happy to have found the Dolls. I have a "Mama" doll from about 1955. Seeing all the wonderful things you have done with old dolls, I want to restore her. Her arms and legs were replaced with cloth, homemade one. Any suggestions as to where I can find some replacements. She has open mouth and two teeth and still cries "Mama"

my favorite doll is: Whichever hard plastic doll I've most recently restored

It seems everyone is looking for "mint in box" - I like to rescue dolls - my most recent reclaimation was an all-composition Anne Shirly - a friend's father found it in a dumpster! Her face paint was chipped, two fingers were missing, her hair was a rat's nest and one leg took a bath in nail polish remover. I wish I had taken a "before" picture but I couldn't wait to work on her! It's great to find another who is doing this with the old dolls - especially the hard plastic of the 50's. I know I've seen the balerina somewhere in one of my books - couldn't find it right now - might be in a book I lent to another collector. I don't have a web page (yet) if you want to exchange pictures - write me - I also just got a digital camera!

I was wandering if anyone could trace the age of my black doll? She is about 16 inches and her hair is curled into the composition. I dont think she is china or Bisque, and was told she probably belongs in a Museum. I was also looking for someone to make me a doll from my pastel portrait? Which is from my published book.

My 12-year-old daughter has three American Girl dolls, and I have really enjoyed sewing clothes for them also.

my favorite doll is: Barbie, American Girl

I am a seamstress, so I was thrilled when my 5-year-old daughter finally showed interest in dolls. I now make almost all of her Barbie clothes and her Samantha (from the American Girls) doll. I don't really collect dolls, although my daughter has over 40 Barbies. I let her play with all of them. She helps me design outfits and pickes our fabric for them. It is a wonderful mother/daughter time for us. My 2-year-old son is also showing interest in dolls, although he mostly strips his sister's dolls. Hmmm, we may have to keep an eye on him. I love your site. Keep up the good work.
