I recently became disabled and have had extra time
to surf the net. I'm so happy to have found the
Dolls. I have a "Mama" doll from about 1955.
Seeing all the wonderful things you have done
with old dolls, I want to restore her. Her arms and legs were replaced with cloth, homemade one. Any suggestions as to where I can find some replacements. She has open mouth and two teeth and still cries "Mama"
It seems everyone is looking for "mint in box" - I like to rescue dolls - my most recent reclaimation was an all-composition Anne Shirly - a friend's father found it in a dumpster! Her face paint was chipped, two fingers were missing, her hair was a rat's nest and one leg took a bath in nail polish remover. I wish I had taken a "before" picture but I couldn't wait to work on her! It's great to find another who is doing this with the old dolls - especially the hard plastic of the 50's. I know I've seen the balerina somewhere in one of my books - couldn't find it right now - might be in a book I lent to another collector. I don't have a web page (yet) if you want to exchange pictures - write me - I also just got a digital camera!
We were talking last monday on the chat line
you had wanted my address,so here it is. Would love to keep in contact with porcelain doll makers

needed.

I make as many dolls as I can. I love unusual dolls with lots of character. I wish that there were more afforadable orientals to make or buy.
I was wandering if anyone could trace the age of my black doll? She is about 16 inches and her hair is curled into the composition. I dont think she is china or Bisque, and was told she probably belongs in a Museum. I was also looking for someone to make me a doll from my pastel portrait? Which is from my published book.
I am from Calgary Alberta and I have just found your web. I am always looking for doll patterns and new ideas,& quick projects. I am new at this any help that you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
I am from Calgary Alberta and I have just found your web, I have not looked at it yet. I like to make dolls and other craft items.
I have many favorites, but do not have the time I would like to make more. Am looking for an up to date Playhouse supplies.
Love that Ginny. I like the 50's best, but I have some of each decade. I like the new ones that just came out and have joined the new Ginny Club. Your never to old. I have some other dolls too, but Ginny is slowly crowding them out.
I really like the music on your home page.
I have so many "favorite" dolls that I just can't put down one:)
We are Americans living in Japan. At the moment we are hanging out through a typhoon and I needed some craft ideas to do with my 4 year old to get through the stormy day. So hello, and thankyou for your ideas.
ilike barbies/ please comment back.
Enjoyed your homepage. Looking forward to getting into the chatroom.
I loved my Madame Alexander Wendy I had as a kid (I still have her). I have only recently rediscovered the M.A. dolls, and have started collecting them (thank goodness my husband is supportive of my hobby!)
My 12-year-old daughter has three American Girl dolls, and I have really enjoyed sewing clothes for them also.
I have lots of dolls for sale. If interested, E-mail me.
I forgot to put on my e-mail address. I'd love to hear from others with similar interests. Gee, I also think I need a spell check. :)
I am a seamstress, so I was thrilled when my 5-year-old daughter finally showed interest in dolls. I now make almost all of her Barbie clothes and her Samantha (from the American Girls) doll. I don't really collect dolls, although my daughter has over 40 Barbies. I let her play with all of them. She helps me design outfits and pickes our fabric for them. It is a wonderful mother/daughter time for us. My 2-year-old son is also showing interest in dolls, although he mostly strips his sister's dolls. Hmmm, we may have to keep an eye on him. I love your site. Keep up the good work.
I have looked everywhere on the internet for info on this doll. I am also looking for info on a original Tammy doll and Tutti dolls. It would be greatly appreciated if you could help me.
Thank You, Jackie
I don't collect dolls, but I love all things that
are old and have survived the elements of time. I
collect antiques for the home decorating end of
things. I loved dolls when young, especially my
tiny tears dolls. You have done a great job
on your homepage and I enjoyed looking at the dolls.
I had fun - thanks!
