Hot Horseradish Sauce

Melt the butter without browning, adding the horseradish, and dust in the flour, stirring constantly until smooth and taking care not to brown. Dilute slowly with the broth and when well blended, add the sour cream and the seasonings. Let the sauce bubble up once and serve. The sugar is optional, if it omitted the sauce will be sharper. If the optional egg yolks are used they should be beaten and blended in.
