The Line In the Sand
Satan roams the earth to and fro,
bringing pain, destruction and woe,
until one day he came upon a man
that not even all his evil could stand.
This man stepped right into Satan's path,
incurring on him all of his evil wrath.
Yet try and try as the enemy might,
he knew in his heart he'd lost the fight.
Then, when Satan turned against me,
it was that same man who set me free.
He said to the devil, "You see that line?
You cannot cross it, for this one is mine."
At that Satan slithered away in defeat,
the one who had spoken he just couldn't beat,
for long ago he hung on a tree,
shedding his blood, setting us free.
There are many times in life when trouble draws near,
times when our lives seemed to be drenched in fear,
but our Savior has drawn a "line in the sand,"
a line of blood against which Satan can't stand.
