2 cups of short or long grain rice (washed and remove any foreign objects)
Bring the water to a boil in a pot with lid and add the salt and oil, stir and taste the water to see if you have enough salt. Add the rice and stir, lower the heat to medium. Don't cover let the rice absorb the water first. When the rice has absorbed the water stir the rice from bottom to top, flatten lightly and cover. Cook for 20 minutes or until tender stirring once again at the last 5 minutes don't flatten leave fluffy.
Serves 2 to 3

salt to taste
