Summer 2005

September 19, 2005

I took Teak to the vet today for the last time. He had really gone down hill; looking back Fred feels it started in the summer just before we went on holidays. He had kidney disease. I thought it would be hard to know when it was time but it wasn't hard at all. Teak had thrown up on a chair and there was lots of blood. Then he wouldn't eat his pills with cheesewhiz - his favourite food. So I booked the appointment.

The Animal Hospital was great. I stayed with Teak until the end. Really by the time we got him to the vet he was hardly moving. Dr. Starkey said Teak had really gone down hill fast and would only last days if we didn't do this. Poor guy was breathing heavy and just tired of being here.

Teak was a great dog. We had a lot of fun doing different things you CAN do when a dog listens to you. Agility, swimming in the pond and cuddling. We will miss him.

Milo stayed by Teak constantly
