Edward Bruce Seamster
Born Aug. 12, 1914 in Halifax County, he was a son of the late James Edward Seamster and Sarah S. Seamster. He was a member of Swan Creek Baptist Church, a retired employee of Burlington Industries Klopman Plant and a farmer.
He is survived by two sons, Carroll Seamster and Eddie Seamster both of Gladys; three daughters, Joan Childress of Brookneal, Brenda Carr of Altavista and Phyllis Tuck of Gladys; two sisters, Inez Maddox of Gladys and Peachie Childress of Rustburg, 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, three sisters and three grandsons.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2001 in Swan Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Billy Robertson. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. today at Finch & Finch Funeral Home, Gladys and other times at the residence.
