Herbert William Hall

Herbert William Hall, 77, of 511 8th. St. Altavista, died Saturday, April 29, 1995 in Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Ruby Thurman Hall.
Born Nov. 15, 1917 in Campbell County, he was the son of the late Jessie and Sara Hatchet Hall. He was a member of Swan Creek Baptist Church and a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II. He retired from the Lane Company in Altavista and Rocky Mount, where he held various management positions, and was a partner in Hall's Auto Mart in Altavista.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Donald R. Hall of Altavista; three daughters, Patricia Caroline Hall of Altavista, Marian Hall Ingram of Boones Mill and Shirley Suffel of Rocky Mount; one brother Lawrence Hall of Lynch Station; one sister, Hazel Baltimore of Bristol; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Swan Creek Baptist Church cemetery by the Rev. Billy Robertson. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Finch and Finch Funeral Home, Altavista, and at other times at the residence.
