Karen Faye Short
Born March 13, 1968 in South Boston, she was a daughter of Carolyn Eades McCann and a step-daughter of Ray McCann both of Pelham, N.C. She was an emplyee of Virginia Marble Company.
In addition to her mother and stepfather she is survived by her finace, David Austin of South Hill and her grandfather, Henry Eades of Altavista.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Lucy Myrtle Eades. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 21, 2000 in the Calvary Baptist Church by the Rev. Sidnesy Wade. Burial will follow in the Callahan Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Finch and Finch Funeral Home, Altavista and at other times at the residence of her mother and stepfather, 387 Forest Drive, Pelham, NC 27311.
