Maggie Callahan Marr

Maggie Callahan Marr, 73, of 4461 Covered Bridge Road, Gladys, died Monday, Aug. 20, 2001. She was the wife of the late James Franklin Marr.
Born Sept. 6, 1927 in Campbell County, she was a daughter of the late William Callahan and Sallie Hall Callahan. She was a member of Swan Creek Baptist Church, a Volunteer with the RSVP Program in Rustburg, and a retired employee of BGF Industries.
She is survived by one son, Jim Marr of Gladys and his wife, Peggy; one daughter, Bonnie Ballowe of Lynchburg and her husband, Charles; nine grandchildren, Lyndsay Ballowe, Barbara Ballowe, Shirley Willis, Mabel Sells, Carlton Clay, Bobby Meyers, Cherie Archer, Mike Walden, and Jason Walden; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary C. Bailey.
A funeral service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, 2001 in Bethel Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Rev. Todd Doolittle and the Rev. Billy Robertson. Burial will follow in the Callahan Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Finch & Finch, Inc. Funeral and Cremation Service, Altavista from 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday and other times at the residence of Wayne and Faye Bailey, 4457 Covered Bridge Road, Gladys.
