Newman Gray Flynn, 72, of 227 Flynn Street, Gladys, died Saturday, May 25, 2002 at his home. He was the husband of Elizabeth Moore Flynn.
Born Oct. 5, 1929 in Campbell County, he was a son of the late Katie Moore and Wilbur N. Flynn. He was a member of Wesleybury United Methodist Church, a retired dairyman and beef cattleman, also he assisted his father with funerals for over 50 years. Mr. Flynn was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Dennis G. Flynn of Gladys; one daughter, C. Miranda Flynn of Gladys; three sisters, Martha F. Millner of Victoria, Wanda Sue F. Jennings of Richmond, and Cornelle F. Walker of Gladys; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Terrell Flynn.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, May 27, 2002 in Wesleybury United Methodist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Charles Langley, the Rev. Don Cockes and the Rev. Sam Caldwell.
The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. today at Finch & Finch, Inc. Funeral and Cremation Service, Gladys.
