The Housewife She's up in the morning Before she's awake, Putting on coffee And pouring cornflakes, Finding lost shoes, Combing sleep rumpled heads, Diapering babies, And making the beds. She kisses her husband On his way out the door, She washes up the dishes And then vaccumes the floor. A quick cup of coffee, While folding the clothes, She teaches her toddler Not to pick in his nose. The children are fighting The phones' ringing too, There's only so much that One woman can do. Supper is burning, Husband walks through the door, Just as the kids Knock the lamp to the floor. He gathers his wife For a well deserved hug, Then helps her to round up Their three little bugs. Little teeth brushed, Stories are read, Three sleepy children Are sent to their beds. She finally gets a moment to rest, Another day over, The house is a mess. Sometimes she wonders, How she manages it all, Without chaining her monsters To the nearest stout wall. She looks in on her children, On her way up to her bed. See's three little angels, Three sleep rumpled heads. She stands there just watching Those little boys rest, It is then that she knows Her life is the best |

Mother's Day She'll get up in the morning before her man. Time to make breakfast, dig out the pan. Have to pack lunches, have to keep moving. Can't stop to sit down, no time to be snoozing. Have to let the dog out, clean up what he did. Wake up her husband and get up the kid. She hollers real loud, she can't be a softie. "Oops!" Gotta run now. Forgot to make coffee. He says with a smile, "Honey, where's my ties?" "Where they always are. Please open your eyes!" Her man's off to work, the kids off to school, but, she can't stop now, there's laundry to do. She must vacuum the rug, wash all the dishes. Leave it for the maid, she only wishes! The dog fell off the deck. Boy, what a dope, but he's ok. Time for her soap. Bill's sleeping with Mary, boy, what a jerk. Ok, soap's over, it's back to work. Here comes her husband, she knows what he'll say. "I'm hungry dear. How was your day?" Dinner's over, do the dishes, put away the bread. She tries real hard, but just can't get ahead. The day finally winds down, and comes to an end. But, she knows that tomorrow, she'll do it again. It's a never ending battle that can't be won. But, if she doesn't do it, it will never get done. There's a lot of days in a year, and I'd like to say, I think every one, should be 'Mother's Day' |

A Mother's Prayer Shelter him with love and care, protect him from all harm... and when he falters, please be there, to shield him from the storm. Throughout his life, forevermore, may angels hover near, to guard this child, that I love so, and take away his fear. Spread your wings, my son and go, to places you must see, but please remember, as you leave, how much you mean to me. The pride I feel, is beyond compare, to things here on this earth; You’re heaven-sent, without a doubt... my gift from God, at your birth. |

Children learn what they live If a child lives with criticism he learns to condemn. If a childlives with hostility he learns to fight If a child lives with redicule he learns to be shy if a child lives with shame he learns to feel guilty if a child lives with tolerance he learns to be patient. If a child lives with encouragement he learns to be confident If a child lives with praise he learns to appreciate If a child lives with fairness he learns justice if child lives with security he learns to have faith if a child lives with approval he learns to like himself if a child lives with acceptance and friendship, he learns to love the world. |
