Boat Trip with school friends, 17 April 2000
Over the Spring holiday, we went on a boat trip organized by one of the moms. We met at the Tsim Sha Tsui Star Ferry Pier at 9am and waited for our 50 ft cruiser to pick us up. The boat didn’t actually dock, just pulled alongside the pier and we clambered aboard the rocking vessel. The kids were very excited but settled down as we pulled out into the choppy Victoria Harbour for the trip west around Hong Kong Island to Deepwater Bay on the southside. We stopped to borrow a tiny dinghy in Aberdeen that we would end up rowing to shore. After finally arriving at the beach, the kids got to play in the sand and the surf with waterguns provided as a souvenir. After awhile it was time to row back to the cruiser for lunch and the trip back to Tsim Sha Tsui. Everyone had a great time and only a couple people were seasick (but no one threw up!)
